I liked it but not particularly much. It's well crafted of course and there's little to fault the story, but Yonebayashi just never seemed capable of capturing that same Ghibli magic as the grandmasters Miyazaki and Takahata.
ugh all these years later and the intro still creeps me out
interestingly enough the same guy narrated the remake which is also good because its not a blatant rip off, is its own movie with the same flare and spirit as the original
Only saw the the remake version once in 2003, forgot it had a narration piece.
