The unraveling of her character and the pretense of this field and even the movie itself is actually marvelous. The ending couldn't be more bizarre yet perfect

Was about an hour too long. Got boring. Did the mom have some kind of surgery? She started to look old towards the end but then looked much younger in the last 15 minutes. You can see in the image above. The 2nd to last pic of her vs the final pic.
Classic. You should watch Chungking Express next if you haven’t yet.
