I wanted to watch Bladerunner 2049 but never saw the first one so I loaded it up. Man, I've never fallen asleep during a movie so fast. After 40 minutes I was out.

So slow and tedious. All the dark environments contrasted with blue lights, ugh. Technical movies still need something in it, this is a procedural but it moves so slow.

Both bpade runners are slow paced but what kept me intrigued was the world they created. The best looking sci Fi universe of all time. Ryan gosling isn't the best actor but the scenery is the star of the movie. I enjoyed it deeply until a character gets introduced near the end of the second act. That is what ultimately ruins the movie for me.

I also admit I also saw the sequel in the theater. Home devices and furniture are not immersive enough to truly enjoy the experience.

I can enjoy set pieces and designs but like I felt about Mad Max, something has to be going on. For 2049 the visuals look amazing but if it's more of the same from the first I'll have to pass.

They routinely show older movies at the theater with the sequel so I'll keep an eye on that if it pops up.

Watched on Disney+ ahead of the show premiering on Wednesday. Pretty sure I saw it when I was very young because I didn't remember much. After watching so many fantasy series/movies as an adult, it had a lot of familiar elements. I could have done w/out the brownie characters and the VFX on them hasn't aged well. Main thing that stood out was of course Willow, small in stature but big in heart. And Kilmer as Madmartigan, nice with the sword.
