Absolutely loved it. Drama/road-movie/coming of age/horror slow burn, visually stunning and actors are all on point.

The amount of colors this movie throws at me made for a great showcase on the OLED, and my god did it look glorious. :ohlawd:

I completely understand when someone calls this their favorite Spidey movie. The visuals are nice but it’s the script that shines the brightest and makes for high rewatchability. The stylistic choice to start Miles’ framerate low as a way to symbolize his clumsiness was neat. I’ve noticed the animation style seems to be rubbing off on other studios as well - that new Puss in Boots movie and Bad Guys immediately come to mind.

As the first entry gained so much critical acclaim, I’m expecting BIG money to be made at the box office next year for the sequel. 2023 as a whole looks to be insane for blockbusters.

This one didn’t do much for me and I typically love Mendes’ works. Thought Spielberg did the love letter to cinema thing way better in The Fabelmans. This film wants to capture similar magic, and instead comes off as stale as McDonalds fries after 10pm. Deakins as always held the cinematography down and Reznor/Ross serve up another terrific score to try to make up for an otherwise scattershot story.

Did 1917 losing ‘Best Picture’ at the Oscars get to him? I dunno, but he got humbled here. Dude needs a writer to reel him in next time.

Heard Chris and Sean talk about this on The Big Picture podcast and how :demonic:it was supposed to be. Caught my attention and decided to check it out. No spoilers, but film definitely left me with a WTF feeling with some character choices. It does have an ending unlike anything I've seen before.
