CNN still has a left lean overall BUT when it comes to Trump, they're much softer on him than any generic Republican.

Why?

Ratings. They don't want to go in on him too much because tanking Trump keeps eyeballs off the network (in their opinion). Watched the DNC and its like they knew Dems were killing it but kept being Negative Nancy's to make people think they weren't seeing what they actually saw.

They create a low bar for Trump and a higher bar for Dems. MSNBC is more left leaning but also seems more factual. They're not gonna pretend Dems success is halfway failure. Meanwhile Trump has a good bowel movement and CNN acting like he finna be President because he flushed the toilet.

i don't think they're merely age related pauses, Biden has had covid 3 times in two years and we know covid can cause brain fog, mobility issues etc. nobody on either side wants to point to covid as a factor in his performance/appearences for different reasons.
