They last forever if you take care of it properly which most people don't. My m3 is in the shop right now getting the rod bearings replaced as a preventive measure. Ill pay $2.5k for rod bearings over paying $15k+ for a used motor.

Details, pls? Ideal way to maintain a bimmer?

My mom's BMW is a 2004 5 series they got in 2005. And my brother wrecked it like ten years ago. That said it still runs great and looks flawless. She wants a new whip, but pips like :whoa:

If anyone interested in a 2009 m3 coupe with 97,500 miles on it, let me know. Trying to sell it to make room for a bmw m4.

how much was it and did you have it built to your spec?

Built to spec. Waited 5 months for it. Just under $60k before taxes. Bought it. Not a lease. Pretty much every option (not many options available). Car can not be bought in the US for under MSRP.

Almost bailed on the deal once I heard about the incoming M2 Competition / CS with the S55 engine but dealer assured me it would be a $10k - $15k premium over current MSRP. So took delivery of mine.

Could have had a 2018 M3/M4 lease or a lightly used 16 or 17 M3 or M4 for not much more. Or a 15 for less. Test drove them all. ZCP and otherwise. But definitely made the right decision going M2. This car just feels right.

N55 is 95% as good as the S55 and far smoother and more fuel-efficient.

N55 is a good ass engine. I wouldn't say you missing out on anything tbh.

Appreciate the reassurance. It was so tempting to go for the bigger engine and the faster straight line speed.

Eh once you tune an N55, the S55 is really only faster above 75 mph or so. That 2nd turbo does work at high speeds which is fun but most of your driving will be below that. Not worth the $10k - $15k difference imo. Plus again, N55 is super smooth and IMO sounds better than the S55. AND it's fukking bulletproof and super-tunable. One of the GOAT engines of all time.

traded cars with my boy for a bit....

not feeling the c63.... its fast though...tire spinner....tire shreadder... but this thing really DOES NOT like the rain or wet pavement....

its a little on the small side...definitely more comfy than an is350 though,

this fukking thing chugs gas though like you wouldnt believe

my current opinion, BMW is forever king when it comes to balance, engineering, efficiency and all that.

m4 > c63

c63 > m3

e63 = m5

S63>>>>>>>>> (bmw hasnt made a car to really compete with this yet, maybe the alpina?)

i think thats how it goes neck to neck...

well basically up to the S class, BMW has every other category...

but when it comes to 4 door coupes, Audi has both beat. That A7/S7 :ohlawd:

the alpina b7 should rival the s65 while the m760li will rival the s65.
