the dems will have to win 2020 if they dont impeach...that is like running from the fight and still getting beat up anyway...nobody is going to take the dem party seriously if the only thing they can do well is get pushed around by republicans...

They have to win 2020 regardless; there's a zero percent chance the Senate removes Trump. So for me it's just a matter of which options makes Trump less likely to be reelected.

What I don't get is we had the Women's March the day after inauguration yet nothing since despite 2.5 years of hell? I assume everyone who participated that day still hatesTrump, so where has that energy gone? It should have only grown from that moment.

Visuals like the photo below are important and move politicians more than a tweet with a million likes. Protests like this should be happening every 3-6 months to keep those idiots in D.C. on their toes.

Unfortunately you get used to just about anything after 2+ years of it nonstop. :francis:

Sad to say Trump's behavior has been normalized and just become background noise for most people, even if they dislike Trump as much as ever.

Maybe getting closer to 2020 will amp people up again, I can't call it :yeshrug:

Initial shock and awe is gone. We're complacent now. People should be in street alone about what they are doing to those kids. I know some people here dont care about the immigrants but seeing those images, hearing the audio of them in court, broke my heart. My daughter was going through some emotional issues because a close friend of hers being Hispanic around the time. I was so angry. We definitely need to be out in the streets about what Mitch is doing in the Senate, what Trump is doing to the country and lack of leadership on the Dem side of things.

I’m getting disgusted with these fukking Democrats. They are not even trying to get people to vote for them. They’re just like, “well Trump is bad, people will certainly vote Democrat to stop him. Why should we even try to do anything? It’s fine to just sit back and do nothing, right? We’ll of course win”

:mjtf:

bytch, your side had a 98% chance of winning the 2016 presidency, but you fukked that up by doing nothing. You let fukking Donald fukking Trump win the presidency. That’s like the biggest L in decades. :snoop:

They’ve literally done nothing to curb the president and his lawless behavior. Why did we elect them? They don’t do shyt :mindblown:

<end rant>

Wooooow:snoop: Kentucky this is who y’all keep electing someone that could give a shyt about your state and doesn’t care about protecting the country. Schumer continues to work with this turkey necked fukk by raising the debt ceiling. Feels like we gave the dems back the house for nothing.

To an extent, we did. 41 House seats turned blue in 2018. Those 41 house reps almost unanimously voted to table impeachment like a week ago. A lot of those reps blue wave surfed into office only to do the exact same thing a republican rep would've done.

I know their job extends beyond Trump/impeachment so this isn't the full picture, but they've completely dropped the ball in terms of delivering the accountability a lot of voters expected in 2018.

When Republican voters are mad about something they vote en masse. When Democratic voters are mad about something (or just feeling uninspired) they stay home or vote 3rd party because "both sides are the same". :skip:

This just ain't true. You think Trump won the presidency because Dems were mad?

:heh:

Dems were mad at Bush, that's how Obama got high turnout.

It's a matter of enthusiasm... Republicans ALWAYS turn out because they hate liberals. Dems should be pushing the same agenda with all that Trump has done if they want the same turnout

If their constituents are blowing them up, can you blame them?

@JMurder that's a selective view on history.

Voters were upset with Bush in 04 but we had a wet towel candidate so no turnout.

But when you've got Neville Pelosi running interference don't worry, the Dem base won't be mobilized when it's de facto leader is a GOP stooge
I don't think Dems were that angry in 04. Or at least not angry enough to end his presidency in the middle of war

I'm conflicted.

On the one hand you might be right. Look at how complacent old Dem voters are in 2019. Now imagine if they were 15 years younger and all the miserable cacs who've died since then we're still around registered as anti-busing Dems

On the other hand I don't believe that Dems are motivated by hate the same way you describe. The Dems never win the White House since WW2 but when they do it's been a young, inspiring candidate running against an established and largely inoffensive republican. Prove me wrong, but I don't think there are any exceptions to this rule in the last 60 years?

And electing young inspiring candidates vs inoffensive established ones doesn't feel the same as the hate based voting motivation that you describe
