Who would indict him? The DOJ wouldn’t based on the memo and Barr wouldn’t.

The memo was drafted in 1973 and has been on the books since then. I'm not sure why people think Mueller should have went against it. (I didnt know anything about the memo until Trump which is crazy to even learn) Its Congresses job, the Dems need to stop p*ssyfooting and get on with it. Educate the public through televised hearings. Either way Trump is going to run on not being impeached, he just praised the Dems who voted to table Green's articles of impeachment at his rally. He's going to run on the shyt anyway, get it done.

The election of Trump pretty much disproves the idea that American voters care about that :mjlol:

You can make a moral argument that it's the right thing to do, but I have serious doubts that it would hurt Trump politically.
America voters haven’t had a real choice in a generation. The Democrats didn’t nominate a candidate in 2016 that had a bold agenda of wielding power in the name of justice and equality.

Trump will be removed from office via the ballot, not impeachment, but it’s demotivating to have the party act so cowardly. It’s not just about Trump, this goes beyond him.

What the dems should do is plan to have one big multiple count indictment for Trump when he leaves ffice. Obstruction, False statements and violating the emoluments clause. And they should advertise those crimes against Trump in the 2020 campaign.

I actually don't see why a potential Dem candidate doesn't use this as a selling point. Tell the people if I'm elected, Trump's going to prison.

Agree completely, which is why this hearing is not going to move the needle. The House goes to recess this Friday and won't return until September 8. Unless people bang the drum at community forums and really make a stink, this hearing will be forgotten by then, which is what Pelosi wanted.

What stopped him from making that decision beforr Barr became AG?
said DOJ memo that they won't indict a sitting president which was signed in 1973. He couldn't do anything.

Where I do agree with you is that he should have clearly said something like, "while it is outside of the scope of my power to indict the president, per the 1973 memo, Congress should look into impeachment options based on the what was written in this report." That is where he bytched out.

Schiff says in opening statement that Mueller report shows “disloyalty to country. ... That disloyalty may not have been criminal ... But disloyalty to country violates the very obligation of citizenship, our devotion to a core principle on which our nation was founded.”

Fair enough.:ehh:

Expecting him to voice those concerns while the investigation was still ongoing is unreasonable, I'll concede that.
