You have a point. I would say at the minimum Barr, Mueller, and see if they can get his taxes (from NY state). Either way, I definitely think they want to get more stuff on the record, and then go for it. They can't have him crowing about not being impeached while he campaigns.

I'm interested to see how these numbers change after the report's release and after Mueller's testimony. If Mueller gives compelling testimony I bet these numbers flip and Pelosi reconsiders.

I have to question this poll. Every Dem I have talked to wants impeachment, not 1 has ever said “give him a chance”. There are far more Dems in this country than his base or even Trump leaning independents. Where are all these people screaming “he sucks, but shouldn’t be impeached”

The goal wasn't to hide it forever, just long enough for Trump to probably run again. The only difference is this was too well known, and no one has faith in Trump or Barr (because he was chose by Trump)

Well Monmouth is one of if not the best pollsters in the country and if you click on the link in the tweet you will see many other polls on impeachment that show similar numbers. My guess is that group who are against it includes a lot of independents.

Same here, especially with trump, his party, and his propaganda network radicalizing people against her. There is a very real chance she won’t live to the end of her term, and I’m sure she knows it. That being said, these words and actions must come from people from similar walks of life as her. They have to be heard from people most marginalized. I try to read the Declaration of Independence every Fourth of July. The most important section in my opinion being “when a long train of abuses & usurpations, pursuing invariably the same object evinces a desire to reduce them under absolute despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such government and provide new guards for their future security”.

To modernize this passage, “when something is wrong, those with the power to do something about it, have the responsibility to do something about it”. Most of the party could learn a lot from her example.

Easier said then done. I'm sure many people go into politics because they genuinely want to make things better or get rich...

Except the problematic feat is that, our political system doesn't do a great job of self-sustaining effective, efficient and great leaders. Financing a campaign will always be a problematic entity. Leaders will always bend over backwards for whoever lines their pockets, so it's not that don't want to make a difference, or don't how to, but rather there's greater forces at play which inhibit change.
