He’s still doing it today. They’re offering big money to anybody just so they don’t go anywhere else. There’s never been a better time to be under WWE contract than right now.
Common sense should tell you that they're making money hand over fist, but some people really want to believe that the WWE is dying.

because vince knows who the biggest attractions really are.

some of yall get too caught up in the smear-pieces and brainwashing because of vince's personal vendettas, when he himself clearly doesn't believe that chit he peddles.

like when he claimed Hogan & them were so old in '96 but had no problem jumping at the chance to get Hogan back in '02 & '06.

He double crossed one of his most faithful workers(Bret) only to bring back a guy that held him up for money before a show and then just vanished on him when he returned years later?

warrior was a much bigger draw than bret hart, shawn michaels, undertaker, etc

if I was actually running a company, I'd definitely trade at least 2 of them str8 up for warrior, if I was guaranteed that the warrior wasn't gonna go AWOL and would play ball.

Vince always seemed to have a soft spot for Warrior.

But his 1996 run was pretty forgettable, and he would've stood out even more for the wrong reasons in 1997.

warrior was the most-over wrestler on the WWF roster in 1996.
that run is only forgettable because he only stayed there for a few months. not because he didnt produce.

hell, he was the real draw for wrestlemania 12.
a large amount of the crowd were gone when bret & shawn were out there putting on that snoozefest.

warrior is one of those wrestlers who get downplayed in hindsight.

Its I blessing he didn't sign but i really can't see how he would have fit in late 97 early 98 WWF

the warrior actually fits in better with that era than the undertaker & kane.

and those two names are both staples within the attitude era.:beli:

The subsequent PPV buyrates didn't see a huge spike with the Warrior's return - fans were interested initially then tuned out.

His feuds with Goldust & Lawler weren't entertaining either, and largely a waste.

I just looked at the date. This dude really is out of touch. :scust:

The AE was already on the rise. If you really had a pulse on your audience, or long term VISION, you wouldn't do this shyt. :what:

I wonder if Warrior declined or which person on Cokeboy's side had to hit him with reality. :snoop:

the goldust feud was cool, but it was an IYH match.
I don't know what you expect out of a feud with an announcer.

also, keep in mind, that the NWO is forming at this time.
warrior's presence kept the WWF from losing a step. that alone is a success.

fans didn't tune out until warrior was gone.

that's like saying, theres a new era going on now, and theres no point in bringing back CM Punk.

the way cm punk's name constantly lingers around, is the same way the warrior's name lingered around in the '90s. wasn't nobody turning down the warrior. and truth be told, the attitude era's roster was weak as f*ck. they just capitalized off the shock-tv era while remixing things from ecw & wcw.

Warrior's last televised appearance (July 8th) was the same day as the Nitro after BATB 96 when Hogan turned.

If Warrior stayed, and the ratings were high then you'd have a point, however he left, and we don't know what would have happened.

a minute ago, you were claiming that the fans tuned out already.
now youre saying "we don't know what would've happened".
which one is it?

if warrior stayed, they would've put the belt on him by the fall, rather than him briefly appearing on raw once every couple weeks to carry out a warm-up storyline with goldust or a comedy feud with jerry lawler.
at the very least, they would've held their own against WCW, rather than str8 getting their asses kicked.

Seems absurd now, but put yourself in Vince's shoes. He might not ever say it, but they were very afraid of WCW, even at this point.

WCW was at it's peak. Just post Starcade. They just got Bret. NWO was running strong. Austin and Rock were definitely rising, but weren't megastars yet. DX was still fairly new.

97 was a great year for WWE in retrospect, but it things weren't yet looking fantastic *at the time*.

Warrior was still pretty over when he returned in 96.

He wasn't drawing in '96 and the creative direction of the industry as a whole was rapidly moving away from the era that Warrior thrived in. Him in WCW in 98 showed how out of place he was in that era, and he was mostly among his contemporaries. They dodged a bullet by not signing him in 97.

Buried his finish too, LOL

Hunter wanted to work a longer match and Warrior was like nah I'm burying your finish and squashing you.

In all fairness that was backstage politics at play, Hunter being punished for that curtain call shyt

And Warrior was booked as the new improved Hogan who also buried finishers

Warrior wasn't out of place in WCW :gucci:

He was only there briefly to give Hogan his win back

You're speaking like he actually had a run

Hogan ego is 100% to blame for that bullshyt

Even Warriors biggest haters agree that WCW shyt was Hogan fault

And Warrior woulda made a dope WWF AND WCW champ in late 90s

Yall really don't remember how big Warrior was, even people who didn't watch knew who Ultimate Warrior was

Warrior had his own version (no pun intended ) of NWO spelled backwards for One Warrior Nation and he dead ass got that shyt over even tho he was only brought in to job to Hogan. I mean he dead ass got a 1 man faction over 8+ yrs after his "peak" (WM6) in a company he was in for barely 2 months :wow:

Had he played his cards right he woulda been bigger than Hogan especially if he stepped up his in ring game. But he was so over he didn't really have to :yeshrug:
