Common sense should tell you that they're making money hand over fist, but some people really want to believe that the WWE is dying. He’s still doing it today. They’re offering big money to anybody just so they don’t go anywhere else. There’s never been a better time to be under WWE contract than right now.
He double crossed one of his most faithful workers(Bret) only to bring back a guy that held him up for money before a show and then just vanished on him when he returned years later?
Vince always seemed to have a soft spot for Warrior.
But his 1996 run was pretty forgettable, and he would've stood out even more for the wrong reasons in 1997.
Its I blessing he didn't sign but i really can't see how he would have fit in late 97 early 98 WWF
The subsequent PPV buyrates didn't see a huge spike with the Warrior's return - fans were interested initially then tuned out.warrior was the most-over wrestler on the WWF roster in 1996.that run is only forgettable because he only stayed there for a few months. not because he didnt produce.
hell, he was the real draw for wrestlemania 12.
a large amount of the crowd were gone when bret & shawn were out there putting on that snoozefest.
warrior is one of those wrestlers who get downplayed in hindsight.
That wouldn’t be much worse, if any worse than the last 10-15 years of :flabbyvince: has been.thank fukk he didn't siign that deal otherwise we would be watching NWO version 37

His feuds with Goldust & Lawler weren't entertaining either, and largely a waste.
I just looked at the date. This dude really is out of touch.
The AE was already on the rise. If you really had a pulse on your audience, or long term VISION, you wouldn't do this shyt.
I wonder if Warrior declined or which person on Cokeboy's side had to hit him with reality.
Warrior's last televised appearance (July 8th) was the same day as the Nitro after BATB 96 when Hogan turned.the goldust feud was cool, but it was an IYH match.
I don't know what you expect out of a feud with an announcer.
also, keep in mind, that the NWO is forming at this time.
warrior's presence kept the WWF from losing a step. that alone is a success.
fans didn't tune out until warrior was gone

If Warrior stayed, and the ratings were high then you'd have a point, however he left, and we don't know what would have happened.
Seems absurd now, but put yourself in Vince's shoes. He might not ever say it, but they were very afraid of WCW, even at this point.
WCW was at it's peak. Just post Starcade. They just got Bret. NWO was running strong. Austin and Rock were definitely rising, but weren't megastars yet. DX was still fairly new.
97 was a great year for WWE in retrospect, but it things weren't yet looking fantastic *at the time*.
Warrior was still pretty over when he returned in 96.
Buried his finish too, LOL
Hunter wanted to work a longer match and Warrior was like nah I'm burying your finish and squashing you.
He wasn't drawing in '96 and the creative direction of the industry as a whole was rapidly moving away from the era that Warrior thrived in. Him in WCW in 98 showed how out of place he was in that era, and he was mostly among his contemporaries. They dodged a bullet by not signing him in 97.
