Vince always seemed to have a soft spot for Warrior.

But his 1996 run was pretty forgettable, and he would've stood out even more for the wrong reasons in 1997.

Hunter wanted to work a longer match and Warrior was like nah I'm burying your finish and squashing you.

He double crossed one of his most faithful workers(Bret) only to bring back a guy that held him up for money before a show and then just vanished on him when he returned years later?

Warrior was a bigger draw than Bret. Vince will bring anyone back (except Mach) if he thinks they can make him money. Plus I'm sure there was some desperation at this point and maybe some motivation to keep Warrior away from WCW as well.

Would have had Jawn answering the Open Warrior Challenge instead and passing the torch to the next neon meathead at the end of that contract.:ohhh:

I get it, late 90s Warrior has not aged well and with the gift of hindsight the Attitude Era/ DX/ Stone Cold/ Tyson stuff was clearly more of a formula for success

That said, Warrior was a big draws in the 90s, bigger than those guys on paper and throwing $750k at him made sense at the time, at least to some extent
