Cody lost some of the momentum due to the injury, but WWE definitely has plans for him to win the belts. The fans love him, he cuts good promos and he has good matches. You need to have classic heel vs face battles. Jey Uso isn't credible but they call him Main Event Jey Uso. He ain't credible but this whole Bloodline saga STARTED with him and he's arguably the most important person in the whole saga.

Cody's story goes back to 2016 when he left the company initially. The complaint about him being shoe horned is lazy.

No one cares about how long Pedro Morales, Bruno or Hogan held the championships; no one cares about Roman holding the championship for an arbitrary number of days.

You can still continue the Bloodline storyline without Roman holding the championship. Roman vs Jey at SummerSlam would be a good time to blow off the storyline in a way that leaves everyone happy.

Simply put, it's Cody's time. Roman had a great run, but it's time to do the right thing by the business.
