It’s not AEW and tK working the sheets, it’s these sheets working WITH AEW and putting bullshyt out there in collaboration with them to work fans and further storylines

What is exactly the work, breh? You really think making a babyface look like a p*ssy for no real reason is gonna make an out of left field three way with Punk/Moxley/Page a match that will sell PPVs? When they only have 2 weeks of TV to build towards that?

Where is the work on "there's turmoil backstage" reports for AEW? What can it possibly be working towards as a money/TV ratings angle?

BTW, people were saying the same thing about Cody. They said the same thing with MJF, were even though him "not showing up at the PPV" was clearly an exaggeration, dude was clearly disgruntled. Even if he comes back next week, it wouldn't warrant 4 months of hiatus that meant absolutely nothing to the bottom line.

You'd do whatever you could too if your ratings flatlined and 70% of HBO Max has been cancelled to make room for House Fixer Upper

From what I understand, they're trying to streamline HBO/HBO Max for whenever HBO Max and Discovery+ merge next year. Don't think their changes are affecting TNT/TBS yet

I don’t know man, I just know people who cover AEW like Meltzer be moving funny

I could be wrong for sure, but I wouldn’t put it past these people to happily push a Hangman/Punk “real life” issue to build buzz around an upcoming feud at the request of their lord and savior Tony.

I don’t care enough to be right or wrong on the matter, but again.. I don’t trust these people

Wrestling fans care more about backstage drama than fake on-screen stories. And it's been that way for a minute.

Honestly this idea of wrestling journalists actually being real journalists has always irked me.
The supposed journalists are just as big a bunch of carnies as the wrestlers and treating them like anything they "report" is real seems like a waste of time.
Just assume they are all journalists like the dudes who wrote for Pro Wrestling Illustrated who acted like The Undertaker and Mean Mark Callous weren't the same guy.

It would be better for them if this shyt is actually real, because if it's another worked shoot then they really are WCW 99-00.
AEW went #2 on Wednesday night :usure:
What else is on? This is not the same as WWE & WCW bragging about having millions of viewers on the same night as MNF.:pachaha:
Aight, I refuse to believe this one. Colt Cabana can't be the catalyst for a promotion going to shyt :russ: It's one thing for Punk to be bytchy and an a$$hole about Colt still having a job, but that trickling down to the entire roster makes no damn sense.
A lot of times the catalyst is really just the excuse. They don't care about a D level talent that much, he just gives them the reason to finally unleash their frustration. Shoot or not this is just short term buzz that'll hurt their credibility in the long run.

That's true but let's be honest its not only wrestling. Woj, Adam Schefter, etc. are in the pocket of certain agents and certain GMs. Its just the cost of being in the game. They are more legit journalists than the wrestling neckbeard writers are, but at the end of the day they are doing the same thing.

People enjoyed the Shawn/Bret feud more knowing that behind the scenes those guys hated each other. Wrestling fans like feeling like they are getting a glimpse behind the curtain, if it wasn't for that desire people like Meltzer and Sean Ross Simp wouldn't exist. MJF had more interest in him coming off that one PPV than the people in the main event entirely because of all the dirt sheet rumors flying around that weekend. Did they wait too long now to capitalize on it? Probably.

They are trying to add an air of unpredictability to a show that has been mostly predictable as fukk for months now. That's probably why you're seeing more "_____ turns on _____ out of the blue" angles as well. There's gonna be more interest in the promos of the guys involved if you feel there's a chance they go off-script and start shooting. If I told you a week ago Hangman would have a promo on the 8/24 episode of Dynamite you wouldn't give a fukk, now if they say "This Weds, Adam Page speaks!" people will be interested to see if he sends real shots back at Punk.
