He attacked the EVPs and still got his own show. His boss is a fan that let him do whatever he wanted.
He had the creative freedom to do the stories he wanted.
He could ban anyone he wanted from his brand.
He still ended up fighting another coworker and lunging at the boss on the biggest show of the companies history.
Everything he complained about in WWE, he got in AEW and he still found a way to screw it up. Complete career suicide. Burning bridges with the 2 biggest companies in industry.
I'm still trying to understand how this happened. I get Punk fighting another wrestler, but what motivated him to attack his own boss?
I'm just imagining a scenario where Punk's kicking Jungle Boy in the ribs while he's on the floor and Tony comes up to him wondering what the hell's going on.
"Punk, what are you doing?"
"I'm kicking this dude's ass, what do you think I'm doing?!"
"Punk, please stop it. Get off him, cut it out!"
"fukk off, Tony, this doesn't concern you."
"It does. I'm just trying to help you out, man."
"Oh, you're helping me?! I'll fukking help
you!"
Punk chokes Tony like he's Bart Simpson. He then goes on to wrestle his match, gets escorted out of the building by police, and he has his termination papers mailed to him overnight. He looks at AJ and says to her while eating a muffin, "Some things never change, huh?"
