I hate to say it but, they showed the gun on a news story I was looking at and that shyt looks like an actual gun. It doesn't have the orange tip like it was supposed to have to identify it as fake.

Sad to say, how the hell are you supposed to realize in the moment that its fake and take that chance. The caller said it MIGHT be a BB gun which isn't enough to stake your life on one way or another. Its a tragic situation but...at least this one makes some semblance of sense.

Please raise your kids with some common sense folks...

I've seen people make this argument several times before. However, this would be a better argument if it was the same officer in both cases.

You don't know what Cop B is going to do compared to Cop A. Not dismissing the fact that being black will make you prone to get shot. Just saying what might be wrong with that particular argument.

In this case, if you roll up on someone and tell them to freeze or whatever and their first movement is pull a gun, that is a little bit of a different situation.

Cmon breh... there was no crime here. Common sense says the kid had no ill intent with the cops. He was just trying to remedy the situation the best a scared 12 year can process when two cops with REAL GUNS coming out of nowhere telling him to raise his hands.

Gotdamn, this wasn't a report of an actual shooter on deck. Kids playing with kids.

Cops need to use common sense first, empathy second and GUNS AS A LAST RESORT, espcially on 12 year olds!! How hard is this to understand???

the point of the argument is that they just dont look at resumes and give someone a gun and make them a cop(idk anymore)
they are specifically trained for these situations so cop whoever is at fault

While both seeing the same thing - one cop, a rookie, shoots. The other cop, a veteran, doesn't.

There is something inherently wrong with that on MANY levels. Why the fukk is a rook going above and beyond without relying on his more experienced partner.

So what does cop training say when you roll up on someone and they act like they are about to point a gun at you? I can't imagine it being anything else besides protecting yourself.

I admit I'm a bit hesitant to argue with you dudes because otherwise I might get called a c00n or some shyt. I'm pro-black and liberal on most issues but after seeing how the BB gun looked and given the circumstance ( I believe the dude who called it in was unsure in the way he said IT MIGHT be a BB gun or something like that), I'm not completely on board on saying this was just a wanton killing of a young black teen. There are some reasonable doubts about that being exactly the case in this circumstance.

But realistic for once, how would you feel is some kid was pointing a gun at you. I use to have a BB gun that looked just like a berattta, you can barely tell the difference. I carry conceal and if anybody pointed a weapon at me or my family they getting blasted because I am not taking any chances. I rather be tried by 12 than carried by 6. There's 12 year old shooting up schools and shyt, so don't play that argument because of his age. It's a tragedy tho
