Had the kid been white they would have talked him down. Cops are not supposed to react like nikkas in the streets. Had the boy been white they would have treated him like a little boy.

First reaction was probably to show them it wasn't real. Natural impulse to reach and show them, like kids do. Just because kids know more, and are exposed to more these days doesn't change the mental maturity. Its easy to say what you wouldn't have done as an adult, you are still applying your level (or lack there of) of common sense to the situation.
This, right here. Dudes in here are really saying that he was reaching for the gun, like he was going to shoot them or he was trying to scare them with a toy gun.
