Wasn't there also a big spike in the salary cap that offseason? It was a perfect storm of circumstances for KD to join the Warriors.
Yeah the players and Michelle Roberts didn't listen to the owner and did the cap spike instead of smoothing it over. GS wouldn't have had the cap space to make that move otherwise.

Players bytched about that move over the years but it was mainly a creation of their own doing that allowed it to happen.

This cba with paying out a minimum 90% of the salary cap is wild. Forces teams who have no good assets to basically donate money to scrubs, what a wonderful life :wow:

Give max contract to a big man with no offensive game.

Can't post up
Can't shoot
Can't create offense for others
Scores mostly off assist from others

Y’all have got to stop with this nonsense. He’s not a consistent 3pt shooter but he can post and he’s a great passer when allowed to run the offense as a hub. Stick to watching Cade struggle:snoop:

I get it. That’s the way the NBA rolls. These agents and the union makes sure all players are understand the game. Cool.

STILL, the Cavs and Magic could have waited. Bump the potential. If Mobley and Wagner were in the open market today, how much are they getting?

Is Mobley right now better than Claxton? I think he got 25M a year.
:dwillhuh:
Wagners shot fell off the cliff. OG got 200M+ and I’d rate Wagner better. The Knicks massively overpaid OG. Philly was waiting in the but Knicks could have offered him 4 for 160M and let him shop himself.

The game is the game. Shout out to these agents getting these players these deals. It just sucks when your favorite team gets hamstrung with players that are worth their contract.
:manny:
212/5 = 42.4M a year vs 40M a year. Based on your own alternative the Knicks didn't massively overpay for OG unless you think he'll be fallen off a cliff by 31.
