Not to be contentious, but I've always thought that having replay value is crucial for an album to be designated as a classic. It's what separates merely good, or even great, albums from true classics. If you don't mind me asking, what constitutes a classic album to you?
It really is in my opinion..
If we are talking 1st tier classics, what album that is defined as a classic is considered cringeworthy years later?
The Chronic is over 20 years old and it stills sounds fresh...And even tho im not big on west coast music, i cant even deny how good an album it is...
1st tier classics should be held in the highest regard in terms of replay value

Example: Is Royal Flush as nice as Eminem on the mic technically? Not at all, but I can press play on Ghetto Millionaire and let it ride, meanwhile I can't even force myself to listen to any of Em's albums again
people use the word 'technically' to suit whatever the fukk what they want it to mean. Talk about technique but completely neglect vocal technique.
Royal Flush has better vocals than Eminem hands down.
MMLP not getting classic says more about the Coli than the album. Not that sales alone should dictate things, but the shyt went diamond.
Also, all the complaints about Em's subject matter doesn't really fly with this one. If I remember correctly theres only lame celeb beef on The Real Slim Shady and I'm Back, and mom/wife bashing on Kim and Marshal Mathers. Aside from TRSS, those are still good songs.
