never came close to a classic.

Yeah I'm sure i read this somewhere else, but I think the more popular artists like Nas/Jay/Pac/Em/Big are gonna get tons of votes both in their favor and against them. Comes with being some of the best. I think "lesser" known or less popular artists end up being criticized less and are more likely to have at least 2-3 classics. Not gonna debate anyone's discography, but if as many people voted in that Nas/Jay thread as they did in say that Geto Boys thread, we might have ended up with them not getting any votes. I think less people are familiar with/listen to their music and would be less likely to participate so what you are left with is people who are more likely to be fans of the artists whereas the Big 5 of Nas/Jay/Pac/Em/Big is just as likely to have casual fans too that might skew their numbers one way or another.

i said this in the scarface thread.

but you cant compare eminem to nas, jay, pac, big, etc.

sure hes a polarizing figure like they are, but hes polarizing for mostly the wrong reasons. hes closer to the drake type of polarizing.

Eminem is wack fakkit. Take a hike cac :camby:

Chill.

I agree, Eminem is wack but you can't slander @Inspect Her Deck for making this thread. He's just trying to gauge what albums the Coli considers classics from notable rappers. And whether we like it or not, Eminem is a notable rapper. These Classic threads have been great.

Yeah even with this thread included, the series of #coliclassics have been pretty good. Great discussions for The Booth.

Not an Em fan but I voted yes for MMLP. Its the album that made him a superstar, helped cement Aftermath's place in the game, and paved the way for them to sign 50. It was a very important album as far as impact and influence and for better or worse influenced a whole generation of white rappers. He even coined the name we use to describe die hard fans

Stan is a classic :wow:
