Does anyone know the terms of the deal when Dre left aftermath? Did he have to give up like all his publishing and ownership?
That's cuz he was putting out all them compilations and shyt, nobody knee of him nation wide til 97
P went nationwide in 95 with Bout It Bout It which got play on Rap City. The next year with Ice Cream Man he was again on Rap City and getting write ups in the Source.He put out like 4 compilations and 5 albums one of them my favorite (mama's bad boy) before 97 pretty sure.
I reckon people knew him b but yes the mainstream audience was hooked by 97 98 but like I said dude was still ballin before that.

Tru 2 Da Game in early 97 was the first album that really sold a lot and then the door was completely blown off the frame with Ghetto D.

He could have fought for it but he didn't, don't know if it was out of fear or just didn't want to deal with the hassle, but when he left he took nothing with him.
