And in the playoffs it's always different. You up 27 going into the 4th in the regular season, all starters are done on either side. But in the playoffs, when a loss brings you a step closer to elimination, the losing team will at least TRY to come back even if it's a long shot. You put your D squad against their B+ squad you fukking up. Play your regular rotation until the losing team waves the white flag (or it's SO out of reach that common sense kicks in like if it's a 40 point game at the end of three )

On top of that coaches can experiment with lineups and strategies that might fix things going forward. You want to snuff out that hope.
