Not sure who said that it was either/or scenario.
The facts of the matter are that under Mayor Maynard Jackson, ATL Black middle class expanded and it became a magnet for Black professionals and entrepreneurs, same can be said to an extent about metro DC under early terms of Mayor Marion Barry, expanded in Chicago under Mayor Harold Washington.
Black middle class expanded nationally due to many of the efforts of Cong. Adam Clayton Powell.

Each of these men were groomed under Black organizations and institutions. And they launched political careers and their agitation and decisions lead to the expansion of economic power for their Black constituents.

Unless I misread you, it seems like you were saying that Black people are starting from point zero in 2022, and that institutions and wealth don't exist in the Black community.
The majority of Blacks in greater DC, Chicago, and Atlanta are either in poverty or lower middle class today. Sure they may have benefited some Blacks in those city..but best believe white corporations still hold the power

These people don’t really want black men to start participating and demanding things. Alot of issue
When? I need multiple examples.

Okay in 2016 there was an increased turnout for Republicans . Especially Fla and PA. Trump got more votes than Romney and he got a lot of the whites that sat out the 2012 election to come to the polls. Mitt Romney didn’t get them to come out he even said as much.

The point is that groups sit out elections all time if they feel the candidate doesn’t have their best interest. America has the lowest voter participation rate among the developed nations. It is nothing new.

That doesn't stop people from criticizing elected officials, though. Easier to be a Monday morning QB, than to try to make the team.
If dudes saw what it takes to run for office, it would expand their views about politics. And stop some of them from taking a middle schooler's view about real life issues.

Nah, they're gonna stay right where they are......safely in the stands criticizing the players.
Marvel Dixon ran for Congress and called the very people who wanted to represent a bunch of "old c00ns" when they didn't vote for him :francis: Some people are better off blowing hot air

The people who was sitting out were the ignorant inbred country backwater cousin lover rednecks who probably haven't voted since the Civil War. Those are the people that Trump got to vote.

Is that who you're saying black Americans should be like, friend?

:russ:You just described majority of whites in the USA.

Also, This aint a moral question for them. It is about holding on to power and resources. They are going to do what they feel is in their interest. If it means sitting on their hands and not voting then they will. If it means storming the capital Building then they will. If it mean demonizing black people like during the war on drugs they will. If it means bad faith arguments about CRT then they will.

We have never really adopted that that type of mindset that is why it’s hard for us to understand it.

Where you're wrong is... you think it was some sort of strategy that country inbred white trash weren't voting, when it wasn't.

They were voting out of feeling marginalized and frustrated. They felt the system didn't work.

After Trump, now they realize that they can make the system work by voting. And they aren't going to stop. They're gonna vote forever now. And try to keep us from voting to make sure they get the most bang for their buck.

You're allied with them when you say you don't want black people to vote, whether you know it or not. Cause guess what? They don't want black people to vote either.

:manny:Whether whites sitting out an election was an actual strategy is moot. It was effective.

The point is a politician like Trump saw this and used these voters as his base by appealing to what they wanted.

Above the fray.

The DAY after you made this post, Biden announced student debt relief and reform. Largely advocated for by the Vice President, and the Black officials in the administration. As well as the Black elected officials around the country who backed and campaigned for Biden/Harris.

The Biden and Obama appointed judges in the lower courts will likely rule on the lawsuits that come up to try to challenge it.

Your thoughts?

Student loan forgiveness equals massive wealth transfer for crackers...the Black people in poverty in those cities will still be in poverty..what are your thoughts on that?
