I was watching the news and the two things they kept pointing to was a $33,000 Amazon charge and a $7,000 Wayfair charge.

IMO that’s nothing :manny:

Even the town being in debt is :manny:

Anyone who has family or friends who lived in Dolton knows them property taxes are terrible and most people can’t afford them.:francis:

Especially this year. It’s been all over the news about that property taxes have went up 20% in the south burbs. Dolton been hurting. Nothing new here.
There’s more than that. She’s going to have to explain how they went from a surplus to a deficit in a matter of two years.

Those two officers on her team are also going to have to explain how they managed to rack up more overtime than their actual salaries.

There’s a lot more to it that they was uncovered.

We have to put this in context. I’m willing to bet they were in debt or near it prior to this. I’m also willing to bet the reason they had a surplus was because federal covid funds.

Just like Chicago was when Lori Lightfoot was mayor. She also left office with a budget issue.

A bit difficult to put it into context considering that they haven't had an annual report or an audit since 2021, which is the year she became mayor to even determine that answer.

That's what makes the entire thing look shady more than anything.

Over 6m in cheques drawn up, but they were never sent on to pay the bills

Police Chief getting over 200k in OT, but actually should've been able to claim OT due to his position

One of the bank accounts went from 2m in 2021 to just over 3k in June of 2024

Seems like she been using those accounts\funds as her personal account lol

not just those two officers.

it was also the police chief. he's not even eligible for overtime, yet he somehow racked up another 200K+ in OT as well somehow. at least they actually fired him finally.

I'm trying to understand how dolton digs themselves out of their financial hole.

they are already taxing the remaining constituents who still live there to bolivia. like houses that's worth like $150K should NOT be paying over 5K annually in property taxes. that's more than my house and it's more than double that value. shyt like this will drive even more people out, and spread the burden over even less people causing even more strain. personally, I think the village is completely insolvent.

It’s not difficult at all. The last mayor was investigated by trustees for the same exact reasons. I think he spent $10,000 in 2 years on travel and they was heated.

They also said the same shyt about him when he started firing people.

In 2018 Chicago sued Dolton for like $10 million because they weren’t paying Chicago for water.

Before that they were defaulting on bond payments.

Dolton has BEEEEEEN broke.

IF they had a surplus in guaranteeing it was from Covid funds.

The woman investigating her is Lori Lightfoot. The former mayor of Chicago who was facing the exact same allegations. :heh:

Hell, Lori gave 60% of the Covid funds to the police. Who the fukk is she to investigate anyone? :francis:

That’s still dodging and avoiding the question of the lack of annual reports and audits since 2021. There here’s no justifiable reason for that and exactly the reason why now she’s in the situation she’s in.

At best, she’s just inept at the job. At worst, what everyone is saying about her is true.

Exactly!! The trustees going after her, but the mayor of Harvey is asking every mayor of the south suburbs to stand with him and not raise taxes. Where they at on that issue?

They can’t afford that shyt. People in Harvey making $25,000 a year and paying $7,000 in property taxes f :gucci:

Don’t forget Pritzker shut all them payday loan/ title loan stores down. They were all over Dolton. I’m not for them, but I’m sure that was a big ass tax base and residents had to be using them often as many as there was.

The one that use to be by Food 4 Less was also crazy busy.

I’m not saying this mayor is innocent but dolton has been fukked for the last 10-15 years and maybe even longer.

Dolton was broke way before she came. That’s all I’m saying. Them pointing to a surplus is irrelevant. Most cities/towns/villages had a surplus from Covid money. Where that surplus at now? Chicago had a billion dollar surplus now the new mayor is getting called out for a possible billion dollar deficit.

I’m not for this mayor I’m for putting things in perspective .

Doesn't change what I said about there not being an annual report or audit since 2021. COVID doesn't change anything about what I said.

Again breh , you keep pointing to the report, but ignoring the fact they was already broke. :dahell:

I’m sure she wasted money and did some crooked shyt, but I keep telling y’all. Dolton was already fukked before her.. the surplus you keep bringing up means NOTHING.
