There was an article on cnn.com yesterday about the rise of crime and transients in Colorado since legalization. The crime part idk, could be other things causing that but there are definitely a bunch of transients here now, in the burbs too. They everywhere. Begging and knocking on your door. I can't stand these people. And yea they want weed. That's been the major negative so far.

Those bills have also been proposed in the senate and congress.

You said let's see some proposed legislation suggesting you haven't seen the legislation that's already been proposed.

I'm starting to think y'all don't actually read or even keep up with some of this shyt y'all say y'all are passionate about. :patrice:
These dudes don't read. All they do is bytch and moan and look for stuff to further bytch and moan about. This is an issue that hasn't gotten ground due to lack of support not for people not trying. Every time it's brought up it gets more and more support but dudes are impatient. Politics is not for the impatient. And sometimes it takes a while to accomplish shyt. Just the way it is.

But you can't expect folks like @jayshiggs to understand that.

Also bashing the Democrats is big business here in HL. For obvious reasons.

Why doesn't Schumer support the Marijuana Justice Act already introduced in the House and Senate? Why is he introducing another bill that does less than the MJA? Just curious.

Democrats have the highest chance of having such legislation passed. Have the highest possibility of having politicians actually get behind them. That's how politics works. You choose the party who has the highest chance of accomplishing what you want and then get behind them. The shyt isn't a fast food menu. Take your best chance and do everything you can personally to see it come to fruition. Send emails. Make phone calls. Get people out to vote. It's not for the impatient nor the lazy.

All this sitting around crying. How many of you have gotten your hands dirty?

From my understanding is that he supports both, but sees this one as more palatable to bigots since it doesn't include as much money being appropriated to minority communities as bookers proposal.

I prefer the the MJA (S.1689 - 115th Congress (2017-2018): Marijuana Justice Act of 2017), but if any bill passes the debate on those already prosecuted would have to take place.

With Schumer being the top democratthis at the very least sets a base line for the party going forward.

I like how. You referenced the incremental nature of policy going forward and gaining momentum as it's introduced more and more and the importance of voting in your allies to accomplish this. At the very least this type of Legislation will be very popular and whichever party gets it down will build up a lot of political capital especially with their constituents.

It's coming. If nothing else, folks will get in line with it as they need more and more money. Citizens don't like paying taxes. Red states have this bad. They don't want government help but they don't wanna help pay for shyt either. This is bad in Louisiana. Money has to eventually come from somewhere. This isn't 1960 and we can't go out having bake sales thinking we can pay for shyt.

It'll be regulated like alcohol. But it's not life and death. Hell even, in my eyes, life and death issues such as health care and infrastructure end up being a huge fight in the political scene and look how long it took for something like the ACA to hit the scenes.

Politics will always be a numbers game. And some of these issues? They may not be enjoyed by you but by your children, nephews nieces....that sucks but that's life. Can't be all about this generation. Sorry folks. It also isn't for the selfish.

Politicians aren't girlfriends or sports teams. They don't get unconditional support and quite frankly, I see nothing wrong with demanding results instead of what amounts to words. Politicians are public servants and as such setting your behavior and attitude towards them as if they are not is not productive. Politicians only act when pressured politically whether through public pressure or possibly losing their jobs. This is just my view on things.

What you call shytting on, I call holding them accountable and holding them to expectations to be met. I can only speak for myself but I did say "alright" which I meant to be like a "cool" and also stated I like how he laid out his argument for his change of heart. But right now, with a Republican congress, this isn't getting through and while its definitely good news along with the Booker bill, the real test comes not when you're in the minority but in the majority and actually can get legislation passed. Like I said, it was easy for Republicans to pass a bunch of Obamacare repeal bills when they knew Obama would veto it and they didn't have a veto proof majority. Yet, it became more than a game when they could actually pass legislation and you ran into three failures before getting just the mandate repealed in the tax bill.

I would personally start the dancing in the streets even if say they get the entire congress and get it to Trump's desk and he veto it. I think Democrats are less shameless as Republicans were with the Obamacare stuff and if they can get such a bill through I'd believe they were sincere in trying to pass it. But they better make sure they got that shyt passed when a Democrat got in the white house afterwards
:ehh:
