Can we now discuss why Republicans are blocking sensible Marijuana legislation proposed by dems that will also help clear the records of millions and disproportionately affect black men targeted by the justice system?

I think why this gets less talk is because everyone expects Republicans to be shytheads. Its like expecting a monkey not to fling his poo. So you put the pressure on the people more likely to fulfill your wish so they actually do it. Its like Republican voters getting angry because a California Democrat is for abortion and spending energy trying to convince them to vote otherwise.

I'm personally never voting for Republicans, and always expect Republican 99% of the time to be regressive.

In the original post explained his change in stance.

Everything you posted is further proof of why I think you're miserable and deserving of this neg.

Schumer's bill comes on the heels of two bills introduced in the House and Senate — dubbed the Marijuana Justice Act — which would go further than Schumer's bill by fully legalizing marijuana at the federal level and expunging convictions for marijuana use or possession.

So you're just disregarding this and the OP.

People are criticizing people who have repeatedly proposed legalization legislation and being all talk.

:wow:

And regarding your post.

These Senators Are All Talk, No Action on Cannabis Legalization | Leafly

"Sen. Cory Booker’s Marijuana Justice Act—had only a single co-sponsor, Oregon Sen. Ron Wyden. . ."
"And some, like Sen. Chuck Schumer of New York, talk a big game but so far have delivered big fat zeroes when it comes to co-sponsorship of cannabis bills."

Chucky is evolving on this issue during an election year. Dismissed as coincidence?

Politicians aren't girlfriends or sports teams. They don't get unconditional support and quite frankly, I see nothing wrong with demanding results instead of what amounts to words. Politicians are public servants and as such setting your behavior and attitude towards them as if they are not is not productive. Politicians only act when pressured politically whether through public pressure or possibly losing their jobs. This is just my view on things.

What you call shytting on, I call holding them accountable and holding them to expectations to be met. I can only speak for myself but I did say "alright" which I meant to be like a "cool" and also stated I like how he laid out his argument for his change of heart. But right now, with a Republican congress, this isn't getting through and while its definitely good news along with the Booker bill, the real test comes not when you're in the minority but in the majority and actually can get legislation passed. Like I said, it was easy for Republicans to pass a bunch of Obamacare repeal bills when they knew Obama would veto it and they didn't have a veto proof majority. Yet, it became more than a game when they could actually pass legislation and you ran into three failures before getting just the mandate repealed in the tax bill.

I would personally start the dancing in the streets even if say they get the entire congress and get it to Trump's desk and he veto it. I think Democrats are less shameless as Republicans were with the Obamacare stuff and if they can get such a bill through I'd believe they were sincere in trying to pass it. But they better make sure they got that shyt passed when a Democrat got in the white house afterwards

Anyone who tows the party line 100% can’t really be trusted. Those people aren’t motivated by principle.

I lean more right than left on most issues, but I am definitely FOR marijuana legalization and think it should be treated the same as alcohol. I’m also for abortion and same sex marriage.

Completely agree with your first point. Are you a registered Republican?
