the fight isnt over the word nikka, the fight is over culture, and if we had a different culture we would not be in the same situation
the notion that it doesnt matter what you call yourself is itself an example of a degenerate culture and degenerate mentality
cuz of course it doesnt matter what you call yourself, if you're a slave that is and/or if you have accepted you place in society
Not everyone who uses the word or subscribes to the culture is unaware and/or not fighting to correct the situation.
There are members of my family who think this way -the way u do. There are groups like the naacp who I've been apart of who think this way. I see from being on the street, being with our youth, from being in the roots or our issues.......
that attacking a persons culture is only marginalizing them. And yes, it is an attack.... even if it's out of caring or whatever... the method is always criticizing a generation who needs more than critics. Whether you feel that it's an attack or not.. they truth is.... taking something that make a person who they are is always going to be met with resistance and you will
ALWAYS end up back at square one - and this is shown and proven in our history.
We didn't just create degenerate mentalities in the 80 90's. We had them since slavery... we had them in the 60's. In the 60's everyone was welcome to the fight regardless of culture. Now we divide ourselves between those who realize what we truly need to fix our situations... and those like who you are too detached from the culture of the youth to realize what we need. Its baby steps. If I never sold drugs - then how can I speak to a drug dealer all day about bad decisions.. I would fail. Because I have done certain things.. .and turned it around to now live a life that is more structured and corporate..... a street n1gga will clearly see that I at least understand why he's in that position and why he feels like he's justified.
You have to start somewhere.
Criticism is a horrible place to start because by the time our youth in urban areas are 8 years old their minds are so fkced that if you come with any of this BS that you are talking
then you will lose them... they will feel even more isolated because not only does the world look at their lil ignorant ass a certain way.. the upper class blacks, the educated blacks, the older blacks, and the c00ns in their own communities look at them that way as well.
If we had a different culture we would not be in this situation. That statement is wrong as fukk. I know that a different culture can help us start to pull ourselves out of this situation (btw, I see more black youth trying these days despite the masses still lost). But a different culture isn't the only thing we need to pull ourselves out. There hasn't been a people on Earth in this situation and most of the ethic and cultural groups we falsely try to point to - were not in the situation we were in, especially for so long, and not with so many different factors.
It might matter that we call ourselves n1ggas.... but literally everything else matters more. I know black CIO's n sh1t.. I knew a black general in the military that was my mentor... who while drinking with friends.. away from society, might say n1gga.... These men have hired and inspired so many muthfacks... so clearly them using n1gga hasn't been the deciding factor in whether or not we can advance as a people.
