I'm always going to ride or die for Avatar. Yeah, the story is generic, but literally no other movie I've ever seen has been a better theater experience. the 3D is absolutely fukking mind blowing, there's a reason it's the highest grossing movie ever. most the people I've talked to who didn't like it don't like 3D. It's a shame home-3D never took off so it's not easy to experience the movie in that format again.

I think you're underrating Aliens and T1/T2 here. but I honestly don't think these directors should be compared

Nolan is blessed with amazing casting to carry his movies. Cameron creates worlds and franchises with his writing and producing. Not to mention he has created film techniques and hardware that are cinematic standards now. Blockbusters? This ain’t even conversation to have.

Nolan has a unique style but most of his stuff has the same feel to it.
Cameron is just a better well rounded director.
