The difference with a musical artist is that she is her own brand and her fans are not only fans of the music, but they are fans of her and what she supposedly stands for.

So for all the women that felt that "black girl magic" with her, they feel betrayed.

This wasn't simply doing business with the government. This was an endorsement for a guy that is working to actively oppress and disenfranchise her fans.

What fans? Nobody was checkin for her like that. She is not a superstar and folks need to stop putting artist and entertainers on a pedestal anyway. She owes them nothing and you don't know any of these people personally. Little wayne basically said fukk black people and has already been forgiven.

And the election is over. There is nothing to endorse. Trump is president. that ship has sailed.

Never said she was a superstar, but she has plenty of fans.

People probably shouldn't idolize artists like they do, but that fandom is what lines their pockets. So image is very important.

There's plenty to endorse or criticize. You don't just stop caring after the election. Now is the time to stand with or against him.

She prob hasn't made that much money in years. Not saying she should have performed but her career was virtually over before this. Even her songwriting career seems dead.
I hear you but you got to stand up for something. Can't always be caring about a check because some things are bigger than that and black people will never get the respect we deserve if this doesn't change.

I agree but "boycotting" Chrisette Michelle is not standing up for something or even worthy of much discussion. Her performance had 0 effect on our lives and any policies that will effect us that Trumps administration will be pushing. It's about as silly and meaningless arguing over solder boy and chris brown in the grand scheme of things. But we love us some hollow and symbolic moral victories instead of real change and focusing on the things that will actually threaten white supremacy.

No. You are the one advocating we stop caring by saying we should refuse to engage and work with the current president to our detriment. NOW is the time to talk policy and see what we can get accomplished under the Trump administration for the next 4 years. There is no standing against him. He is your president whether you like it or not. Unless your proposing a revolution which I don't see anybody signing up for. It's back to work and business as usual for everyone from what I can see.

Welp ... now that she performed here come the jellyfish and outsiders saying how she shouldn't be judged.

Bbbbbut it's for the government
Bbbbbut her supporters don't Pay her bills
Bbbbbut what about Hillary

This dude ran his campaign on being anti everything that isn't straight edge white men and you fukkers act like it didn't happen ... fukk partisanship. This dude got to this point being a separatist. That moment should have been a reflection of how he got to office.

Can you imagine during the garbage and transportation strikes there were two weak ass black people still riding the bus and picking up trash... This is the reason why we are in the position we are because the establishment knows somebody will fold and they will milk the imagery of that to justify their actions.

We will never get any real change if we don't stand together and that means all of us. It's not about boycotting the sister and not even the impact or lack thereof that occurred by her preforming but it's the fact that a person of color should not have been on that stage period. That would have made a real statement. I mean think about it, that's like him talking shyt about mexicans and then he ends up having one walk around on a leash and he says he is fukking her. Sure it does nothing for mexicans as a group but it makes them look bad and imo creates an opening. If you can get one of person to stand for some bullshyt for money or any reason, than others will follow suit and join them as sell outs and we can't accept that. We should never sell out no matter the price because then it makes you look like a hoe and reflects on the people as a group.

The jews stand together and look where they are. As for us black people we are all messed up and sure this may just be an opportunity for her to make some money and it's just her getting up there and singing with her voice. However imo, it speaks on the larger phenomenon that we known as a sell out or the c00n or uncle Tom in African America Society. It starts with a show but where does it stop, it doesn't, you got men on screen wearing dresses, girls giving racist folks blow jobs and being their girlfriends because they want money and I could go on and on. You got to have some integrity at some poing or you will always be a joke.

Well if your are waiting on that for change to occur you will be waiting forever... There is no all of us. The black community is not monolithic. Like it or not there are even black people in Trump's cabinet. There is no statement left to make. Trump is well aware that only 8 percent of blacks voted for him. The data is all public.

I mean think about it, that's like him talking shyt about mexicans and then he ends up having one walk around on a leash and he says he is fukking her. Sure it does nothing for mexicans as a group but it makes them look bad and imo creates an opening.

Look bad to who? Who are you trying to impress? White people? The same racist that already hate you? You are looking for white acceptance. Newsflash.. racist will be racist no matter what. One individuals decision is not the reason for them to be racist to a group. Thats excusing their racism. Stop trying to make people that hate you try to like you. Who cares what they think.

Chrissete michelle did what was good for her. She doesnt reflect all black people any more so than Ben Carson or Jim Brown. You sound like a racist yourself with that logic. Black people are individuals and the only people who judge blacks as a group based on the actions of a few are racist and you shouldnt care about their opinions anyway.

The jews stand together and look where they are.

Jews are white people. They also practice racism and discrimination towards blacks and africans. There are where they are cause they receive billions in govt handouts every years and control the banking sector. The even received reparations.
