I will further expand on this. Its more like “the middle class” that they cater to openly though the middle as we now understand it makes hundreds of thousands a year. Most folks are lucky to see 35k. Democrats will have policies for people who are poor, but they get rolled up into catch all omnibus initiatives that sound great but run into the same problem: most of America reads at like a 6th grade level.I legit watched the Red Pill reddit sub turn into Alt Right central in real time. It was effortless too. Dudes were already primed and angry at the world, just a little poking and prodding in the right (hah) direction to send em down the rabbit hole.
But again, folks on here are in their bubbles. This is 100% on Democrats, their messaging has been shyt for decades. They figured "Well no one is THAT crazy, we are all making money here so what's the big deal?". They haven't thought about the Working Class, just their own corporate masters.
I have basically had to reconcile with the fact that not only our tons of Americans pretty stupid but if we can’t sum up policies in like a sentence, then it does not land for a vast number of people. If you use the words equity and economic justice, then you have immediately lost damn near half of the country. If you say “everything is too expensive and I can fix it” you pretty much just have to be likable and people will vote for you with zero specifics.
The Democrats need to go in not only a 90% pro labor direction, but they need to have extended and dumbed down versions of everything they do or say. Also, invest in influencers and media infrastructure. Its easy to say “Democrats suck at messaging “ but look at Sinclair broadcasting and check how many right-wing stations are on. Fox news is like the 2nd most watched cable network. Not news network, cable network.
last point: it’s also not that Democrats don’t reach people as there were a shocking amount of people who voted blue down ballot, but Trump at the top of the ticket. This particular presidential election was not about policy, but just how people felt and who they liked. Unfortunately this is why we do not get scientists and engineers in offices because Americans love to like their guy rather than having a competent guy at the helm.
