How come we don't see Asian or Hispanic groups crying about this shyt? theyre too busy worrying about shyt that really matters than some pat on the back.

You must have missed all of the times Asians were talking about the white washing of hollywood roles, last year. They all do. Black actors just have more visibility (even though it's limited as fukk).

This reads like defeatist bullshyt.

first of all, the Smith family is the fukkin worst. they're secret scientologists who let their son model women's clothes...

second of all, if the 3 black people everyone thought should be nominated actually got nominated everyone would still be complaining.

Black people forever crying for not getting a pat on their back from their massas :mjcry:

I never knew we needed white people to validate our greatness ... you think they give a fucc bout your black ass, boy this why this shyt continues cause they know black people crave that recognition from the white man in power..

just boycott their shyt and keep it real... dont need them for shyt, continue to put on outstanding performances and collect your cheque while raising beautiful black babies

Exactly... it's like when u see black men and women on the streets... they do what ever it takes to get that Mercedes or have that mansion to somehow validate themselves as we on the same level as white people and in some instances shyt on other blacks for not having or doing the same

Please cacs accept us in your racist industry so we dont have to join the pro blacks.

This, this, this, and this. I find these tweets to be somewhat embarrassing. Comes off like two well to do panhandlers. Both are in a position to do whatever they want in life. As someone looking to supplement my current income, I have a hard time taking complaints on diversity in Hollywood of all places seriously. Jada, Chris, put your money where your mouth is.

Tora Miller When did this become such an important issue to you, after your husband was "snubbed" from the nominations ? Because we should have taken this attitude years ago. Our dignity has been diminished since Hattie McDaniel won the first Oscar as a black actress. It was at this time that we began a quest to seek the approval of the academy on our artistic accomplishments . How many of you powerful , superstar black actors and actresses attend the NAACP Image awards yearly to support other black entertainers? only when you are receiving a "special" acknowledgement. So instead of talking about it because you feel that your body of work deserved an academy award nomination from an institution that was not even created to honor blacks in the film industry, support the institutions that were created to not diminish your dignity but to celebrate it. Yes I'm sure you may donate thousands of dollars but come to the awards show EVERY year so we know it's real

Give them a few roles they get back in line.

I think we need to get Off tv personally.

If our stories and experiences cant be told honestly it's just propoganda.

There are enough black people in the entertainment industry with money and stroke to break away and create their own shyt.
Don't matter. Money in such situations means nothing if conviction, commitment, and courage is not ingrained in those black folks

Honorable Minister Louise Farrakhan spoke about the black president of a bank being forced by white jewish groups to return his $5 million dollars

But here's the thing... Creed and SOC get reviewed better than Trumbo. They had way more recognition than Trumbo. Yet Cranston still gets nominated :deadmanny:
Theyre great movies with great acclaim and commercial success praised for their acting performance...but somehow they dont have great actors or direction :dead: so obvious

It's probably already been said but i'll just say it again..............IT'S A WHITE AWARDS SHOW!!! Why haven't these black entertainers started/supported their own awards shows? It's because we don't value black operated establishments. America is still majority white so stop being shocked that entertainment centers continue to cater to them. Go where you're celebrated, not tolerated.

Mixed feeling's. Its some bs that straight outta Compton and creed were not nommed for its black participants. At the same time the Oscars are low hanging fruit when it comes to what I feel we should be getting mad about. I really liked what Jada pinkettsaid in her video. Its kinda degrading to ask, want or need recognition from cacs. We do really need to get over that need for white validation. That goes foroscars or Grammy's or media outlets.

Just off the top of my head I can call a grip of performances by actors of color that were worthy of nominations:
Samuel L. Jackson in The Hateful Eight
Idris Elba and Abraham Attah in Beats of No Nation
Will Smith in Concussion
Benicio Del Toro in Sicario
Oscar Isaac in Ex Machina

:mjlol: at people acting like Smith got snubbed with that god awful accent. shyt was like a Lifetime movie
