Its a kids/family movie.....Primer is not

But what they have in commom is time travel

Im an engineer..stuff like Primer interest's me...not kids movies...

I feel you, Scientifically "Primer" did deliver. One of my boys put me onto it and I remember calling to thank him. It's completely underrated cult status right now. As for Time Movies. I think Nolan will do a great job in this area but the biggest issue with Time Travel and this happen in "Looper" and the "Back to the Future sequels" is you ended losing yourself in paradox's of how can this happen and not happen and it ends up losing control. I like the idea of "Alternate Timelines" like in Dragon Ball. Trunks changed the future but his future was the same in his time line even though he altered the timeline he went too.

I just hope Nolan takes a systematic and grounded appraoch to this and I suspect that is the case being that is been in talks for so long. The ideals from themovie are all from a real physicist and not some sci-fi writer...of course its gonna get the hollywood treatment...buts its roots will be in science and Nolan is just the man for the task....

:mjpls:...

The best time travel movie is "primer"...nothing even comes remotely close

problem is..primer shows how the majority of people need to see some thing like "Back to the future" to be able to even comprehend the subject matter

all time traveling movies are pretty much the same as there are no facts to what can and can't happen with time travel. I don't even know if you can call them plot holes.

Looper was piff. If that's the case, Back to the future failed, the terminator series failed, and so on.

Like I said I enjoyed Looper and think it was worth the price of admission. I just didn't like some aspects of it's time travel. I'm far from some "film buff" just interested in Time Travel theories and I prefer the multiple/alternate time lines as opposed to single timeline. If any one cares I'll explain why.

My problem with Looper is it's use of the single timeline, with the way they used time travel the movie should not have ended with JGL dying. After killing himself it undoes everything that happened before. It should have ended with the movie going back to him before seeing his future self, and the mom/kid not knowing anything about him. I don't compare it to Back to the Future because thats an 80's campy type Sci Fi, and it still did a better job of tying loose ends.

In Terminator you never really see the paradox of things being changed, for all we know they may have not been intending to protect their future, only alternate ones that may occur if Connors was never born or was killed.

Which brings me to DBZ and Trunks. Anything he did in the past didn't effect his timeline. He went to alter the other timeline and get help to kill the androids in his. Which he did with the remote, but didn't need because he had gotten so strong.

Edit- Just noticed @Rapmastermind already broke it down:salute:

I was expecting Nolan to recruit some people from Man of Steel, preferably Michael Shannon and Russell Crowe. Cant question Nolan, the gawd knows what hes doing :blessed:
