I went to see Memento while in college with absolutely 0 expectations. I saw it at a indie theater after only reading the logline and seeing 0 ads for the movie. Didn't even know it existed and had no clue who the fukk Christopher Nolan was.
So the backwards storytelling was
I notice that people who go into the movies with expectations, or hear about it from someone else tend to not like it or think it's overrated.

Same here...that was the movie that put me on to Nolan I had no idea who he was then I caught Memento on cable on day. shyt was piff not a 10/10 or anything but damn good original movie.
