Same here, although I had the reverse effect when I saw fukking Casey Affleck and Topher Grace pop up.
Nolan. Sci-Fi. Space. I'm there. Can't wait. I'm glad he's staying in Sci-Fi, this is his true genre after "Inception".
I loved it. Just got back from IMAX in Mahatten on this raining Thursday. But I have to be honest it was more "Homages" than Nolan himself. The main thing that was Nolan is of course he always tries to grounds things into reality. But If I broke it down:
ACT 1 and 2
Act 3:
But I loved the movie. It was like 60% Space and 40% Earth. It did get Dramatic but Emotion is something Nolan's films in general aren't the greatest at so it worked here. Again, the whole movie felt like a Love letter to Spielberg and Kubrick. But I liked the plot a lot. You also felt the emotion in the film with Matthew and the Daughter. The cast did fantastic. As for the scientific stuff. It's a movie not a documentary. The Visuals were amazing, Loved the space journey. The multiple Planets. The Wormhole and Blackhole sequences were amazing. The movie was great, I don't know what the critics are talking about. Love the twist and turns of the plot too. Nolan knocked it out the park. Here's what I said on the 1st page of this thread almost 2 years ago when the news broke:
Nolan need to stay put in Science Fiction.
cut down your review for youthe movie was great until it became ass. overall, it was another ass nolan film
Okay, here goes...
But none of that lives up to the madness of her brother and his family. Why was he such a hard-ass about Murph trying to get his wife and son help so they wouldn't die of the dust? Why indeed build him up as if he's going to murder her for setting his crops on fire if nothing's gonna come from it? Matter of fact, when Murph hugs him and smiles and says she has found out the truth about their father, why does he still have the psycho stare going on? And why does it cut away there and we never see him again? At least the other characters serve a purpose in the plot, and that's why I can tolerate it, but everything involving her brother was just a complete and utter mess.
