See, now that's totally true about The Prestige. The stuff with the hats, the early hints when Jackman and Bale discuss other magicians, the rugged on/off relationship with his wife/mistress, every time I watch it I pick up some new detail that has me like
.
Inception though, is a movie that explains everything. Every concept, in the exact context it's used in the movie. The first time you might be kinda
at it because it's new to you, the second time you're (or at least I was) seeing there really isn't more to it. That movie sorely misses moments where you, the viewer, discover something new that hasn't already been told to you, because there aren't any.
Also, I can't get over this scene.
What's wrong with it, you wonder? Well, the fact they're brainstorming at the beginning when exactly to get at Fischer, then Saito seemingly thinks of the plane ride Fischer takes. They discuss the details, what's going to be necessary to make it happen, and then Saito goes "I bought the airline" to solve all their problems at once. But since the same conversation they started 30 seconds ago, when the hell did he do that? Did he buy it beforehand which would make no sense since they were brainstorming ideas, or did he do the deal on his smartphone in the ten seconds the others were talking the details?
It's such a small, insignificant thing but it bothers me to this day. When did Saito buy that fukking airline, brehs?
