I'm not saying they're necessary but why don't other manufacturers sell directly to the consumer?
So why is it so important that cars be sold through a dealer? The National Automobile Dealers Association would tell you that it’s the high price or the complexity of the machine or that dealers protect consumers. All those arguments are specious. The real reason is the same one that underlies all legislation that restricts trade or limits competition: It’s good for the industry. Consumers get hurt, but since most lobbyists work for businesses (and not consumers), those are the folks to whom legislators kowtow.
i tell ya. you see some crazy sh1t on these internets.. big business actually looking out for consumers..
maybe that's where you're head should have started then done more research why it's that way. instead of about sh1t you know nothing about..

this article is a lot better than that opinion piece you cited.
There are a couple places in NY and PA where you can arrange to purchase the vehicle.Could they really stop you from getting a car outta state and bringing it back if you purchased it there?
This guy is corrupt as they come. day by day.... Why are they fukking afraid of an electric car. that shyt still costs 50k!?
this move is actually meant to protect consumers....
does any other manufacturer deal directly to the public? ....No.
Its an archaic way of doing business and makes the cars more expensive because there is a middle man
it does noting to protect consumers
you have emerged as perhaps one of the biggest overlooked idiots on this site. It is quite amazing watching your transformation on the boards from a once sensible poster to someone that sounds like they have a brain feed from fox news.I have to say this is the third strike with Christie, I was actually leaning Christie, but this, the bridge closing and also turning down some bridge or tunnel that was gonna get built is over the line
well there's obviously a reason they banned it.
Breh this is very naive. Just because a market is regulated against new entrants doesn't mean there's a good reason beyond protecting monopolistic interests
