In the moment.

Using total rings is so fukking stupid though.....

At this point in his career, Duncan is either better than Shaq or he isn't. A ring this year really shouldn't be the difference maker.

I was to dap you then I saw that you had baseball under your name :scusthov:

I didn't say they lost in 04 because of chemistry, what is undeniable is that Shaq and Kobe's dislike for one another led to Shaq being traded. If Shaq didn't let his ego get in the way they could have stayed together, he was still effective for another 2-3 years.

Agreed, but kobes ego and need for the ball was just as much a factor.

I have no reason the believe that. I never bought into the idea that the lakers lost in 04 beause of chemistry. Awful cop out

:usure:
They lost because they weren't the better team but lets not act as if personal issues between players, under performing ring chasing ass vets, locker room issues and off the court issues plus a goddamn rape case didn't factor in to it.

Now who else wanna fukk with Hollywood Court?

Yeah, but you pair Kobe's ego with Duncan's lack of ego and they would have been able to stay together a lot longer than Shaq/Kobe.

Just like KG (ultimate number 2) would have been a perfect person to pair with Kobe during that time period, so would Duncan.

e better than Shaq and I have felt this way for years. Duncan does not need a ring to validate this either, and if anyone thinks he does then they are an idiot.

I'm not even gonna lie though, I want Duncan to get 5.

Im gonna be like :merchant: when he retires.

I will be indifferent when he retires. Ive never been enterained by the spurs and they almost ruined the nba with their game in the 00s. NBA great but he always seemed like he was taking a win from another team that deserved it more.

If Kobe cant get 6, then I want Duncan to get 5.

Dude was a quietly the dominant player of this era, and even more so (long term) than "the most dominant big man ever."

The thing that makes me say Duncan over Shaq is Duncan's defense. In an era of great PFs, Duncan was the best defender of them all and would do a great job containing and stopping those guys on the ball. He still a great post defender today with bad feet and knees. I really think dude can still be a damn good defender into his late 30s/early 40s in a way Shaq never could.

I never thought that I would be as big of a Duncan stan 10 years ago, as I am today. When he retires, the game will lose so much because he is one of the last of the big men who's game didnt revolve around running and jumping.

edit: and seeing you added "This era's Kareem," you probably agree with me that Duncan could play into his late 30s/early 40s and still be an effective player.

that is a shame then because you are missing out on the best offensive team of since the Showtime Lakers, and not fully appreciating a legendary player in Duncan.
