Steroids in and of themselves aren't that bad. Heck guys like Franco Columbu and Frank Zane are still alive and kicking well into their 70s, and guys Sergio Oliva and Serge Nubret lived longer lives than most. It's when guys start adding pills, alcohol, and other recreational drugs, like Eddie and Benoit, were doing where it starts to really take a toll on the body. I've never heard of Steiner being into recreational drugs so I wouldn't be that concerned.

Breh, Not to be morbid, but it will be interesting to see if there's any comment in Steiner's autopsy report on his heart size when he passes. His heart has to be well over 1000 grams, dude looked like he used horse steroids in the early 2000's.

If Benoit had died from this or if he had just killed himself and not anyone else he would be in the Hall of Fame right now though :to:

If he had just murdered his wife, he would probably still be looked at more favorable. Once he killed his kid, all that went straight out the window.

That's why I really don't discuss Benoit with others. Same with Michael Vick. It's impossible for people to talk about them without their emotions getting in the way.

Not just the drugs but adding wrestling period.Wrestling months straight along with training like bodybuilders has to take a toll. And thats without adding pills or the other stuff.

This is a very inappropriate comment. You're trying to completely shift the burden of responsibility away from the actual parties and their own behavior, and blame others. Look, Benoit and Guerrero were making pretty good money early on in their careers wrestling in Japan, and when they signed with WCW in 1995 they were both locked in to six figure contracts. They re-upped those contracts a couple of years after for close to a half a million dollars a year. Stop trying to act like these guys were mistreated and abused souls that only did drugs because they "wanted a chance". Thats insulting. Someone who wants a chance is the guy who drives 500 miles to wrestle in front of 100 people for a 20 buck payoff. Not two guys who were wrestling for a powerful conglomerate in front of packed arenas, and being handsomely rewarded for it.

They were just greedy and wanted more, and as a result they got caught in their own vices and psychopathy. Not only were they abusing steroids, they were alcoholics, and popping every upper and downer at an incomprehensible rate. They were living incredibly destructive lives....Lets stop acting like these were good moral people because they could wrestle. Especially Benoit. People rag endlessly on Triple H, but the guy has never touched an alcoholic drink, let alone a drug (outside of steroids), and it shows; just like the decisions benoit and eddy consciously made caught up in the end, and for one led to one of the worst tragedies in sports history.
Great point and I respect your opinion but why should how much money they make matter? I never said they didn't make a good living I said even with them knowing how good they were in ring, they still were overlooked and pushed asided for the bigger, less talented individuals. Now I agree on the drugs it was they're decision on

Edit -wasn't finished my bad lol

Doing them. On the moral part. I never said they were saints especially Benoit as it was documented they he was abusive to Nancy. All I was saying is that even with all they're talent, they were
never going to get their chance to shine in a business that they both spilt their blood, sweat, and tears for unless they did some dangerous things to their body. It's not right and that mentality is thrown out the window as evident bu Daniel Bryan but it wasn't in the 1980's or 1990's. But I do see and understand your point and I respect it.

P.s my bad for the fukked up post lol I was on mobile

thetown to global
their deaths is what allowed a lot of smaller wrestlers today to just kind of stay natural and not go overboard with roid abuse since the microscope was put on wrestling

it is kind of fukked up if you think about it, a guy can be the best performer they have and truly put in work in the gym 24/7 but wouldnt be allowed to reach the top of their profession because they didnt look like a cartoon

i agree with @No_bammer_weed tho, ultimately they were both adults and even as a huge eddie fan i cant say he had no faults in what happened to him. still sucks tho

Eddie started abusing after his car accident in WCW...when he turned heel it was obvious, even Heenan made mention of it without blatantly saying it. I can't remember the match though

Eddie in 1999 was spooky looking. His face was so gaunt. Yeah he was in great shape, but he looked unwell. Then he went the to the other extreme when he got fired from WWE and the change in his body from 1999-2003 is fukking wild, and he just kept going. At the end his frame looked like it had at least 70 pounds more than it should be able to carry. His arms/shoulders/traps/delts literally looked like they belonged on a dude 10 inches taller than him.

And Benoit was positively grotesque looking, just like Dynamite at his biggest. Those last 2-3 years he doesn't even look human. Their P4P strength ratios had to be absolutely insane.

It's pretty fukking telling that everyone who was closest with Benoit all immediately assumed he killed Nancy and the boy.

It seems like you’re assuming that Benoit and Eddie started roiding after they made the big leagues, and did it to go to the next level on the card from there. And I do not think that’s what happened, especially with Benoit. He was clearly on roids in WCW, watching his old stuff in HD now
