Probably because even with all that talent. they still were overlooked for being short and not the quote on quote "Stereotypical Wrestler" you know the Lesnar's, Batista's, Ultimate Warrior's, etc and it made them feel like they had to do it to get noticed and finally get a chance.
This is a very inappropriate comment. You're trying to completely shift the burden of responsibility away from the actual parties and their own behavior, and blame others. Look, Benoit and Guerrero were making pretty good money early on in their careers wrestling in Japan, and when they signed with WCW in 1995 they were both locked in to six figure contracts. They re-upped those contracts a couple of years after for close to a half a million dollars a year. Stop trying to act like these guys were mistreated and abused souls that only did drugs because they "wanted a chance". Thats insulting. Someone who wants a chance is the guy who drives 500 miles to wrestle in front of 100 people for a 20 buck payoff. Not two guys who were wrestling for a powerful conglomerate in front of packed arenas, and being handsomely rewarded for it.
They were just greedy and wanted more, and as a result they got caught in their own vices and psychopathy. Not only were they abusing steroids, they were alcoholics, and popping every upper and downer at an incomprehensible rate. They were living incredibly destructive lives....Lets stop acting like these were good moral people because they could wrestle. Especially Benoit. People rag endlessly on Triple H, but the guy has never touched an alcoholic drink, let alone a drug (outside of steroids), and it shows; just like the decisions benoit and eddy consciously made caught up in the end, and for one led to one of the worst tragedies in sports history.
