This is a dumb statement but my point is, they give the guy all this power, then fire him a year later? They should have never given him all of that power in the first place if they weren't committed to letting him build the team. Meanwhile Andy's got the Chiefs balling out with a limited QB.
If a coach is undermining the front office to get that power, how is an owner to know that it's the coach who can't scout? Chip had 2 10-5 seasons, but he was obsessed on having his own players in there. Sometimes you have to let a man fail to deflate his ego.

The fact they didn't let him finish the season says a lot. He lost the team.

You committed to him and give him 1 year to build the team? This is precisely why you don't give an unproven HC full control. Eagles are idiots. They got rid of Andy, then bring in Chip, give him full control and fire him after a bad season. :why:

you have no clue...its way more than just "one bad season" its his inability to adjust as a coach, his holding up the franchise for power and failing miserably and then lying about how he is not the GM. a large portion of the locker room bailed on his philosophy, players and workers at the novacare didnt like him...its a huge package of BS

I cant fault the owner for giving him power bc the other option was firing chip and siding with a unproven GM in howie roseman.....that would have been a PR nightmare ( at that moment)
Now we see he is a horrible GM and his system is flawed and the team is regressing at a rapid rate over the last 3 yrs

i think the eagles did the right thing..my only issue is keeping Roseman as a GM...he is the source of all this..he brought Chip to Philly to begin with

Eagles one of the most poorly ran teams. All that shyt about Andy and the eagles pull this shyt.

It is like they hired chip just so he could fukk up the talent then let his ass go.

Cheap ass lurie.....so now he got pissed at chip. Not when chip cut Jackson. Not when he traded McCoy, not when he traded Foles....but he suddenly pissed now.
Poorly ran, but we ran the NFC in early-2000's and scared them in the late ones. :russ:

We just started fukking up when we let Andy Reid have too much power, then gave it to Chip for ease of mgmt. I don't blame Lurie as Reid had gained a lot of goodwill, and Chip was already acting like de facto GM before it was official. I just wish Rex Ryan was still available. He likes to air the ball out, but pound the rock too.

in KC he walked in to ALOT of talent on defense...so talk what you know...plus he is only the HC- not the kinda GM stuff he had in Philly

He will never get an nfl job again. he burned too many bridges and hasnt shown the ability to adapt. It's his system and his way. He finally got some humble pie.

right in the nfl you have to coach to your teams strength not try to force your "system" on a bunch of grown men.. He deserved to get fired just based on all the bad decisions he made, and the eagles organization deserves to lose for giving him all that power..

People keep saying he only had one bad season, but every year he got rid of more talent and the writing was on the wall..

I just don't understand giving him all that power though. Chip woulda been fine as a coach. He has done pretty well with no QB. He just burned a lot of bridges and his talent evaluation is questionable/poor. Let GMs be GMs and coaches be coaches.

Because Chip was a hot commodity with 2 winning seasons, who thirsted for that power. He refused to try to cosign a more poweful, better GM. So what is Lurie going to do? Putting too much blame on the organization J.

in hindsight you are right but it would have been a mess..if you didnt give it to him bc he was gonna quit. yes its a mess now...but maybe..just maybe he could have been successful at both. I am not a fan of being the GM and HC...i think the roles oppose each other and its too much for one person..Howie Roseman is the issue ..not only did he hire Chip but he fired chip right hand guy which prompted Chip to make a power play

Never that.... Chip Kelly is a huge Cam Newton fan
Everyone's a fan of greatness, when it's on someone else's team. It's called Grass Always Greener Syndrome, which is why Chip traded a 2nd rounder and the wrong backup for a gimp with pocket fear.

I'd bet Chip would go :mjpls: in a minute having to interact with the Blackness Cam doesn't portray on Camera every day at practice....definitely if they had a rough patch. Would probably trade him for a 6th rounder at the end of season :pacspit:. Stupid motherfukker.

I thought he'd leave...didn't think they'd fire him off of one bad year. That's crazy. I bet the players complained long and loud for them to get rid of him before the season even ended.

Chip never connected with this team, he treats them like college players and not professionals and adults. You could see the last couple games he had completely checked out on the sidelines.

I'd bet that this was either completely mutual or more Chip's decision but he doesn't wana come off like a spoiled little p*ssy who can't handle a bad season so Lurie let Chip save face, and in the process saved his own face by seeming like he was in complete control.

fukk it though I say good riddance I never got the impression Chip was happy to be here, Andy Reid (I was one of the few who didn't want him gone, I knew it was time for a change but Andy was my guy) was a die hard Eagle's guy from day one until the day he left. Chip was all about Chip and it was blatantly obvious. I hope he either ends up back in college or goes to another NFL team and fails and learns again that his system is fukking bush league compared to NFL defensive schemes.
