I read those comments and was gonna write up a response and then thought

you know what they are gonna write some even more stupid response trying to draw a false equivalency and then I am in a circular argument with dummies who deliberately try to miss the point
Yeah it's crazy how people assume everyone is read up on what's happening over in China. I follow A LOT of news and politics in regards to the US and in doing so have heard next to nothing with what was happening over in China. Not everybody follows world news and it is irresponsible to speak on some shyt you have no knowledge of just to speak on it. Most of the people criticizing the athletes for not speaking on it are doing so from a dishonest perspective because they want these athletes getting themselves in hot water. These two tweets sum it up perfectly.

what i want to know is how is this any different than the anti-BDS bills these politicians have been passing. marco rubio's bill that had bi-partisan support basically encouraged states to refuse to do business with companies that support BDS. so if starting a boycott against a country that is engaging in apartheid is bad, then not speaking out against china should be cool too.

I actually mentioned awhile ago in the thread what China was doing was similar to isreal and laws being written to not boycott them.

Exactly most folks don't even know what the hell is going on in china cause its not covered on the national news.

Unless you watch international news or some shyt like democracy now, RT or Al Jazeera most wouldn't know what the hell is going on. Hell most don't even know the whole history of china and Hong Kong. I even had to do a refresher and read up on the history again because a lot of stuff I forgot over the years.

And even then you have to realize there may be nuances that get left out depending on who is the reporting organization.

And you know what the funniest part is...let me ask everyone in here who says the athletes should speak out against the Chinese government here...

The Coli in here flat out told us with their words and actions that they would never stop watching the NFL even despite their actions against Kap

But we are supposed to believe they want athletes to speak on the actions of a foreign government .

You don't watch the news if you don't know that the protests have been going on for months. You couldn't get away from it if you read and watch the cable networks.

With that said, it’s easy to know and be aware, but not comprehend what’s really happening out there. I don’t expect every NBA player to have an opinion on this stuff. In fact, many of them probably didn’t give a damn about this until the reports of the cap dropping 15% potentially over losing China

I think their point is(though it’s coming from a disingenuous place) is you are more then an athlete and won’t shut up and dribble until your money is on the line.

A lot of white supremacists in this thread. @Rhakim, you are one of the best posters on this site but you disappointed me in this thread. This ain't got shyt to do with us good Black folks. For us as a collective, this is not our issue. We can have an opinion but we are not equipped to speak on this issue.

White people have already turned us into the boogyman which is what I expected when Hail Morey who never spoke on any Black AMERICAN issue, not Flint, not Newark, not Charleston, shyt not even Donald Sterling but found the voice to speak on this. fukk outta here. This was a con and of course, who has to suffer for it. The fukking Black athletes. fukk y'all higher learning nikkas. Always missing the big picture
