or maybe it's a trojan horse?
Unlikely but sure. All kinds of speculations going on any way so let's just add to it. :laff:

U.S. claims they just missed their targets and crashed in the desert. Other speculating that the missiles' command/control communication channels were over taken.

Syrian army say they got the missiles. People speculating that they gave them to Russia for study. Russia refuses to confirm or deny they got it from the Syrians.

That's the hilarious yet sad aspect of war people often don't see it overlook. The part where all parties involve try to save face. Like that Israeli F-15 that got shot down a few months ago. Lebanese claimed they shot it down. Israeli said it was an engine malfunction. Lebanese then provided video of them aiming a shoulder-held launcher shooting at it and then you see the explosion and the plane falls out the sky. Israelis then said it was "pilot error" and the the missile actually missed.

shyts be hilarious with all the posturing :pachaha:

Don't help that us companies with important tech are probably just giving them the blueprints keeping the data on devices when they travel.

Getting that ass hacked

Russia got elite hackers too. John McCain's aide got his laptop hacked and he had a video of mock ISIS beheading.

China has been a superpower for most of its history.

The period before now where they were dominated by European interests is something of a speed bump and now they are rising again

They have something we don't have. They are like a hive mind and they all work like ants to get over

And they have 4x our population. So they can do alot in a short time

No such thing as "China" for most of it's history. You had a series of competing states and ethnic groups. The Mongols(1230-1360) and Qing(1650-1910)(Manchus) ruled China and actually were foreign Invaders.

This is the strongest and most united China has been in it's history

China. People from what is now Modern day China. Same shyt.

Rome wasn't all of modern day Italy, was it? But their empire spread out that far and then some. Same with modern day Iran. At some point the U.S. was just a few states in the north east. All Americans feom New England all the way to California like to beat their chest about defeating the British for their independence yet California wasn't part of the United States until the 1850s when it was snatched from the Mexicans

I am going to Google some shyt eventually but

The general theme is that China was a one of the strongest until the Europeans forced their way in

I dont know.. like 1800s when that happened. No Google

So they took a dip for what, 200 years?

The history of China [the area if not the techical country] is ?a couple thousand years?

So a couple hundred years is something of a pause

An now they start to rise again

Cacs thrive on divided nations. China consolidated and is now a legit threat.

Hong Kong just a port for cacs to import drugs into china, like its always been

I would say Europe passed China in war making ability in the early 1600 with the corruption and fall of the Ming.

For some reason even though gun powder technology was developed in Asia. The Asians never developed military theory around it like the Europeans did.

The closest was Nobunaga who saw it's value and used the gun to unify Japan.

Rome expanded out of Rome and was the uncontested power in it's region. You cant say the same for a Chinese power until the Mongolians conquered and united China.

This was was China at the time of the Mongolians invasions.

China was actually united by a foreign power. Han Chinese were second class citizens in their own land.

The Ming were Han Chinese but then they were conquered by the Qing who were Jurchen/Manchus another foreign power that made ethnic Chinese i.e Han second class citizens again.

Anti-Qing sentiment
(Chinese: 反淸; pinyin: fǎn Qing) refers to a sentiment principally held in China against the Manchu ruling during the Qing dynasty (1644–1912), which was accused by a number of opponents of being barbarian. The Qing was accused of destroying traditional Han culture by forcing Han to wear their hair in a queue in the Manchu style. It was blamed for suppressing Chinese science, causing China to be transformed from the world's premiere power to a poor, backwards nation. The people of the Eight Banners lived off government pensions unlike the general Han civilian population.

How do you know all of this. Where do you read about all of this? My brother is an FC in the navy so he knows some of this stuff but I am still surprised how some of you civilians know about command and control etc.

What does your sister do in the Navy? These are the basics of any remote control device.

I studied electrical engineering in college. Most devices have a communication channel if manned. If it's unmanned how how do you control it remotely? You have to have an interface through a command and control channel/frequency. It's like your basic toy remote control car except the communication channel has longer range and the communication is encrypted.

I'm also somewhat of an aviation geek so intend to follow aviation related news in my newsfeed

THe french and germans are gonna work together to build their own 5th Generation fighters. I bet the French pull the same shyt they did with England when whey were building the Typhoon together and bail and build theirs own platform at the last minute. THo i'll give them props tho the Rafale is quite impressive for a 4++ generation fighter. While the Typhoon is great in air superiority scenarios it's been said it's not versatile enough to be an attack aircraft like the Rafale.

D'assault has a great reputation for building quality fighter aircrafts but they are a little late to the 5th gen party, arent, they?

DefenseNews said:
Germany, France to move ahead on sixth-generation combat aircraft

COLOGNE, Germany – Plans for a Franco-German combat aircraft are set to kick off in earnest at the Berlin Air Show later this month, officials told French media on the sidelines of a meeting of the two countries’ defense ministers in Paris on Thursday.

The idea of a joint “système de combat aérien du futur,” or SCAF, came out of a bilateral Cabinet decision last summer, part of a larger effort to promote the Berlin-Paris relationship in a militarily stronger Europe. The aircraft program would initially be led by Germany and France, and later opened to other European states.

As envisioned, the planes would take to the skies by 2040, replacing the fleets of Dassault Rafale and Eurofighter Typhoon jets in both air forces. The project is seen as a key indicator for how – and if – Europeans can manage a truly large-scale project, especially given industry rivalries that lie beneath the often lofty diplomatic language.

French minister Florence Parly told the La Tribune newspaper that discussions were “active” between the two countries toward a first step in an eventual program. The goal at this point, she said, is to bring together activities on the political and industrial level. Airbus, Dassault, Thales, MBDA and Safran are among the companies to be involved.

French officials look to sign with Germany what Reuters reported would to be a 10-page common requirements document at the ILA Berlin Air Show, which runs from April 25 to April 29. Companies would then spend almost a year separately working on technical specifications before negotiating a cooperation contract, Reuters reported.

According to Parly, additional countries would be invited later. Her primary concern at this point, she told La Tribune, was to solidify the French-German “base” before opening the project for wider participation.

France also has a future aircraft program going with the United Kingdom. That program would continue in parallel, Parly said. Both programs would be “extremely useful” on the way to the “aviation of the future,” she said.
The Berlin Air Show is slated to feature a host of global defense policymakers and aviation industry leaders. Besides the SCAF announcement, companies are expected to use the show to jockey for position in a number of European procurements, including a planned multinational “Eurodrone” and, in Germany, a new heavy transport helicopter and air-defense system.
Chinese and American spies probably already on some
