Here's something people don't put into context tho .... people dont really have a grasp on how much a billion really is. When you have 1.5billie + people in a country, any segment/sample size can be chosen to reflect any sentiment or idea.
So for every non-ignorant Chinese person who is not bigoted, you could find their counterpart who parrots government propaganda or backwards ideology ... and vice versa.
When you have so many people, ideas are not always gonna be uniform or logical. Thats a big reason why the government tries to prohibit Islam and any other differing ideologies, because they know how easy it is for the country to be fragmented again as theres so many different ethnic groups and people trying to do things their way, the CCP is basically trying to make a billion + people fall in line.
