You had African posters like @Emeritus (i think that's how you spell it) calling people c00ns if they criticized African governments over the unfair deals with the Chinese. It's a sad state of affairs altogether. Yet another century where Africa will get lapped by others. To make it worse, South East Asia and South America are "up next" meanwhile Africa will mostly still be on its bullshyt.

To put it into perspective, a lot of African countries had higher GDP than China in 1980. Same with Singapore. They eventually lapped us and we getting left behind. The same thing will happen for South America and South East Asia because African leaders are short sighted and foolish.

I think for the countries that have decent institutions, such as Botswana, it doesn’t matter who’s in charge or how shytty the leaders are, things will continue to proceed as they should.

It’s only for the countries with weak democracies that need better leaders. Problem is there are always more bad leaders than good leaders. This is why America has a constitution that delimits what the government can do. It’s damage control.

I think the better African countries should radically open up their immigration policies to grow their economies and populations even faster. That would also light a fire under the ass of the shyttier countries to get their act together or lose their people. Competition is always good for humans

All you have to do is look at Syria and what happened over there; same with Iraq. Those countries were actually decent countries back in the day, but they stepped out of line and the west came in and smacked them.

The stronger a country is, the less western countries are willing to meddle in their business. That's the reason why the west is doing nothing about China grabbling Hong Kong. They can't do shyt because China has Nukes and a decent military. It's the same reason why America hasn't invaded North Korea or Iran. African countries on the other hand are a different story? If Botswana steps out of line, the west will come after them. If oil is discovered in Botswana, expect the west to invade that country. Stability means nothing unless you can secure that stability.

True but Botswana is a US ally, and doesn’t really have oil so I think that’s unlikely. Also because of nuclear non proliferation treaties you can’t just start a nuclear program for the hell of it.

You can’t become a strong country with a population of 2 million. Countries like Botswana should allow a lot more immigrants. The best countries in Africa should suck up all the people and talent, this is how the US became powerful

Instead of building a nuke program from scratch, Just import the people who have nuclear know—how. And any other skills your country needs. Test the weapons secretly underwater to avoid treaty issues
