Taiwanese government knows that. All those wealthy Taiwanese people know that. And China and the US knows that.

But Chinese government does not want to start a war with people they consider a part of China. They aren’t in any direct wars it seems. China is playing chess with BRICs, Giving countries money, building infrastructures, etc. Stopping Taiwan from building microprocessors and sending them to the US is part of the plan but I doubt it’s by force. I doubt they do anything except a show of force.

That's what I'm saying.

Chinese buying power isn't declining while American buying power is. It's all well and good to announce a new phone or car but that shyt will flop if most people cannot afford it. Most recent example being the apple vision pro.

That's what's happening in America. Inflation is eating any gains employees are making and white people just elected a man who will not only make sure that continues to happen, but will accelerate it.

So here you are as a Taiwanese company. You can either sell to the rest of the world through partnerships you build with a country that regulates it's businesses and keeps customer buying power strong by spending money on stimulus and expanding businesses

Or you can sell your products to a country that has a shrinking customer base with less disposable income to buy the shyt you want to sell them, and companies that are horribly run and getting worse because nobody is able to check them.

If China is willing to buy more Taiwanese products and make Taiwan rich, and if what China is doing is working for it, why would they not want to at least create a strong pact with Taiwan?

Also our own government did not dispute that China would try to annex Taiwan when they started normalizing relations
