i never said they did, that wasnt my point, im just pointing out that dre, kanye and other grown ass black people are promoting this filth

my point is that the prison system works with the acquiescence of black people and black people willingly participate in it

They're not saying anything because they know it's just going to draw attention to him. They're hoping that lack of attention will kill his buzz, and prevent his music from being played all over the country.

All this controversy is guaranteed to give him some success. They want to avoid having his music represent the genre.

Reading this thread makes me realize that a lot of people have never even stepped foot in the inner city before and believe what they hear in the music or tv. The majority of people who live in the hood are good, respectable people, decent working class families making a living. A lot of people were born & raised there and cant see themselves moving to the burbs and living amongst people who dont look like them. Then you have the people who hate it living there and cant afford to move, but once they come up on some paper, they bounce and dont look back. Then, you have the ratchets and hoodrat n!ggas who partake in the sh!t you see on Channel 2 and front page of the paper - they'll never leave.

That small segment of n!ggas glorify that bs, but not everybody is on that.

Best post in this thread.

LOL that isnt what was happening at all

before this whole thing blew up
keef signed a publishing deal with dr dre and kanye west did a remix with chief keef, even jay-z and his best friend gwyneth aka real nikka paltrow were getting down with the movement http://www.ballerstatus.com/2012/08...-frank-ocean-gwyneth-paltrows-summer-playlist

they got money on chief keef just like interscope does, we already knew iovine was a snake and exploiter but with chief keef black people's hands are all over it, dre, jay-z and kanye and other black people had no problem with promoting the filth and the prison industrial complex as long as they make money, rhymefest was the only person that called out

my guess is the reason lupe got all bent out of shape and "retired" is when he realized his best friends in the industry where the very people promoting chief keef

I think he "retired" more so because he made a statement, that he really wants to make sh1t better and save the youth. and instead, chief keef took it the wrong way and threatened him :heh:

its probably frustrating as hell.

yeah, that too, i agree he really wants to do something but im just saying, his own best friends in the industry are the very people promoting chief keef, that just doubles the insult and level of frustration because he can't simply rage against the system, his peeps are the system and his peeps think chief keef should be a rap star

which BTW raises the question, of how any black person can look at chief keef and his crew and not get a queasy feeling in their stomach and not think that there is something really wrong here, dr dre, jay-z and kanye looked at chief keef and they saw a star :noah:

I think that's an unfair assessment of their situation.
Jay-Z,Kanye and Dre didn't promote Chief Keef, he got
hundreds of thousands of views from the people who like him already.
I think you do a disservice to the black people you supposedly care
about when you characterize their struggle as being fueled and promoted
by Hip Hop music.

It's obviously more complex than that.

I personally like cheif keef and his crews music :yeshrug: its jus an alternative to the hip hop i usually listen to.

But i do agree there is a problem here. These nikkas is really bout that life. Its not jus music wit them. :manny:

I dont blame them for knockin jojo out his shoes, due to the fact that jojo caught reese slippin on more then one occasion, basically playin wit his life.

But if they jus ridin aroun on some dumb sh!t then there is a real problem here that needs to be addressed. And everyone from the a&rs down to the support he gets from dre has blood on there hands

Thats jus my opinion tho

It's obviously more complex than that.

on top of the interscope deal, keef got a publishing deal with dr dre
Chief Keef Signs With Interscope Records, Lands Publishing Deal With Dr. Dre | The Smoking Section

im not even sure what a publishing deal means business wise, but unless you are retarded you should know if you sign anything with dr dre that instantly gives you legitimacy, everybody knows that including dr dre, so dre was promoting chief keef

kanye west and the rest of the industry including the so called good music also promoted chief keef

jayz and gwyneth aka real nikka paltrow also promoted chief keef
http://www.ballerstatus.com/2012/08...frank-ocean-gwyneth-paltrows-summer-playlist/

so its completely fair to say they promoted chief keef and because chief keef is 17 years old i think its also fair to say chief keef and his promoters in turn were promoting the prison industrial complex among the black youth

the only person of any significance that said anything was rhymefest Rhymefest Blasts Chief Keef, Interscope Over Promoting Violent Music | Get The Latest Hip Hop News, Rap News & Hip Hop Album Sales | HipHop DX

the black struggle is not being fueled and promoted by hip hop, and it should, if hip hop is not doing that then hip hop is doing a disservice to black people and black people should abandon it

1. These kids don't care about Dr. Dre much less Kanye's opinion on Chief Keef, he was already burning up the internet before Kanye hopped on his beat
and before he was signed,he already had MILLIONS of views.
And hundreds of thousands of mixtape downloads, if anything this shows that the public WANTS chief keef's music, it isn't being forced on them
or marketed to them.

2. My post wasn't referring to the bolded/what is quoted above but was actually referring to you saying kids are encourged to be hoodlums and thus willing participants in the prison business by chief keefs music.
When that clearly isn't the case, because chicago has been struggling with a gang problem for years.

3. I won't be replying should you reply to this post, just figured I'd point that it's pretty absurd to say Chief Keefs music fuels and promotes the prison industry.
