Reading this thread makes me realize that a lot of people have never even stepped foot in the inner city before and believe what they hear in the music or tv. The majority of people who live in the hood are good, respectable people, decent working class families making a living. A lot of people were born & raised there and cant see themselves moving to the burbs and living amongst people who dont look like them. Then you have the people who hate it living there and cant afford to move, but once they come up on some paper, they bounce and dont look back. Then, you have the ratchets and hoodrat n!ggas who partake in the sh!t you see on Channel 2 and front page of the paper - they'll never leave.

That small segment of n!ggas glorify that bs, but not everybody is on that.
exactly, :comeon:

I can tell a lot of these people are from small towns or the burbs or something...I lived in the hood up until 4 yrs ago and for the most part, most people in my neighborhood (on the west side of Chicago) were good hard working people that couldnt afford to move else where. Yea there were gangs and ratchet bytches but like they always say, an empty wagon makes the most noise.

You makin up hyopthetical scenarios n shyt the fukk is wrong with you?

Oh almost forgot. :troll:

Hiphop has a rather extensive history of glorifying violence before Sosa got a following.

It's ironic that nikkas like me are the problem...but you jesse jackson lite nikkas have never been part of a solution

You guys are part of the solution right now. Destroying one another until all the demonic trash is reduced. The police and demonic court system clean up the rest.

Its so demonic, friend.

yall need to stop it w/ the "its the systems fault" bullshyt.

Listen, I get what youre saying...but everybody in this country has a choice.
Its the parents fault...w/ the internet, you can learn anything you want.
Shyt, you can make money w/o a college degree here...its all about what you want to do.

Aint nobody forcing these cats to beef on twitter and kill each other...thats on them, not society.
Im at the point now where im done blaming others...there is some truth to it, but come.

Your life is your life...the decisions you make are on you. Dont blame lack of jobs, blame yourself.

I can't cosign this at all. It's definitely the system. Unfortunately, I lived in this type of area, and very few young nikkas make it out unscathed.

shyt, they determine how many prisons to build based on the drop out rate. Prisons make the economy BILLIONS.

the prison system only works works because black people willingly and on their own free will participate in it

and btw i dont know if its been mentioned already but rhymefest already called this whole situation out

the fact that dr dre, jay-z, kanye are completely unwillingly to call out bullshyt the way rhymefest did is part of the reason kids think its ok to participate in the prison industrial complex

dog, i know being from the hood and being about that life is two different things. i've already said that these little chitown nikkas are NOT about that life. that's my point, and that's what i said lupe REALLY is about that. these dudes think making videos, snitching on themselves as they carry guns, is what the "life" is about. you nikkas have it very twisted, and i blame this internet culture for that.

unfortunately, kids around the country watch those videos and really think that's what the life is. dudes who are about that life aren't in the streets clapping their guns.

running around the hood, busting your gat over gang affiliation has nothing to do with being about that life. imo, the dudes REALLY about that life are the ones who moved in silence, got that bread, and kim from the bullshyt. which is why i said that tweet from lupe wasn't just him reaching out for peace.

i never said they did, that wasnt my point, im just pointing out that dre, kanye and other grown ass black people are promoting this filth

my point is that the prison system works with the acquiescence of black people and black people willingly participate in it

There's certain people that've sold out to follow that path
