It's not that I don't know it's just that this is a conversation that would go on forever. There is not an ethnic group on this planet that have gone through what black people have gone through and are still going through.

Every circumstance is different but if you live in poverty with no one to guide you nine times out of ten the result will lead you to an illegal life of some sort.

Kudos to though you seem like an intelligent person who made it out.

Tdot.. till the death of me
personally..a system can be from a family upbringing...the way ur parents raise u is a system...the way the economy is is a system...the education u receive is a system...it is what it is...I DEF feel what u sayin..u gotta be strong mentally to overcome these things..and stop blaming shyt on outside sources...but what if they arent strong mentally?..what if they don't have anyone showing them what's right from wrong?..what if they have undiagnosed mental issues..which is a BIG DEAL in urban and poor communities...muthafukkas try to do drugs and "drink away the pain"...it's alotta things that contribute to this shyt...and u def right about personal responsibility...I def feel u on that...and I know what it is to speak to a young teen and try to school em on shyt and help them turn shyt around only for it to go in one ear and out the other...I said in the other thread about Keef n them a while back..."it's crazy when u can look at lil nikkas and tell that they so far gone they aint gonna make it"...and my statement still stands...shyt is cray...and I see it everyday...

and thats why I respect Lupe, because he came from that, and went AGAINST the grain. he beat the odds. cheif keef and reese and them are all products of there environment, going with the grain.

why people wanna lump Lupe in that going with the grain "bout that life" crew is beyond me.

Lupe is not about that street life. his whole mission was to get out the hood and do better

the quote in that interview speaks volumes "all my homies is killers, all my homies is in every gang you wanna talk about, every level of crime you wanna talk about. but that aint what its about" :whoo:

I've never stepped foot in a hood my whole life and his message was clear to understand. It's a shame people on here think the hood is "real" and the final destination of the world.

nikkas toast death and pain like slaves on a ship braggin about who got the fliest chain.

:snoop:

dog, i know being from the hood and being about that life is two different things. i've already said that these little chitown nikkas are NOT about that life. that's my point, and that's what i said lupe REALLY is about that. these dudes think making videos, snitching on themselves as they carry guns, is what the "life" is about. you nikkas have it very twisted, and i blame this internet culture for that.

unfortunately, kids around the country watch those videos and really think that's what the life is. dudes who are about that life aren't in the streets clapping their guns.

running around the hood, busting your gat over gang affiliation has nothing to do with being about that life. imo, the dudes REALLY about that life are the ones who moved in silence, got that bread, and kim from the bullshyt. which is why i said that tweet from lupe wasn't just him reaching out for peace.

but here's the thing. being about that :violent: isn't cool at all. it's nothing to be proud of. hell, if lupe is about that sh!t, then i look down on him more so than chief keef. chief keef is someone who is lost. you can't help but to feel sorry for him because he's someone who is getting pimped and doesn't realize that his actions is going to get his ass into something that he can't get out of. lupe on the other hand is basically telling kids to leave guns alone, rolling around with an image that he tries to pin up so dearly in order to sell records thinking people are idiots and then turn around talking about "i'm from the streets. i don't play that sh!t. i have goons that will kill you. i'm trying to keep it positive". yeah, i agree that you do NOT have to rap about what you live about and that a rapper is no different from a movie character BUT if you and him outside the rap sh!t are really thugs, gangbangers and drug dealers, you can't look down on him as well. maybe your rapper gimmick can look down on his rapping gimmick but you and him personally are the same person. you're about as ignorant and sorry as he is. if you KNOW better, then you should be getting out of that lifestyle instead of engaging in that sh!t too on the low.

The crazy thing is I don't even listen to Lupe music but I overstand what he is saying. We have been conditioned to think the hood is the place to be when in reality it's not. It's not what life is about the world is bigger than th hood and the sooner we as a people realise that the better. No preacher.

To be honest I don mess with Lupe music but as far as I know he doesn't promote the fuccery which even if he is a 'goon' in reality is a commendable thing. He is not trying to contribute to the problem even though that's where he is from.

you should explain, what this "system" is..

i come from an unfortunate circumstance.. matter of fact, had a little brother die over the same kinda shyt about 10yrs ago..
i also know plenty of people who come from those kinda cimcumstances and, broke the cycle.. including myself..

i need to know what "system" i can place the blame of his death on, because i was completely unaware of this until i saw this thread.. :wtb:

breh come on man. No one is saying blame the system. I dont know your brother, where you live, where he lived, what people he had around him, or what he died over. so I really cant give you an answer on who you should blame his death on.

When I say that the system is largely responsible for the cheif keefs around the world, this is what im talkin about (and im speaking for myself. spliz or whoever, may have a different perception of the system):

Because you seem lost, Im going to do my best to give you actual statistics.

2012:
Second City or dead last? Chicago's sky-high minority poverty rate | Chicago Muckrakers

"About one in three of all black people in Chicago, 32.2 percent, are living in poverty. That's number one among America's largest cities. Only Dallas comes close, with 30.5 percent. In fact, Chicago's African-American poverty rate is close to being the highest minority poverty rate in the nation. Only Latinos in Phoenix and Philadelphia have higher rates of poverty."
Chicago%20pov%20rates-thumb-236x136-324927.png

ok. so lets put this into perspective. the population of chicago in 2011 is 2,707,120

Second City or dead last? Chicago's sky-high minority poverty rate | Chicago Muckrakers

so 21% of the population in chicago is in poverty. which equals 568, 495. blacks and latinos account for 55% of the poverty. so thats 312, 672 blacks and latinos in poverty.

what do people do when they are in poverty and cant afford to feed there families? unemployment rate is 10.5% right now but guess what

Black unemployment high in Chicago; wage-sharing could save jobs - Newstips by Curtis Black
"Chicago is also near the top in the ratio of black to white unemployment, with African Americans here 2.5 times more likely to be unemployed.
One significant factor could be heavy cuts in public service jobs, which disproportionately impact the black community, said Ron Baiman of CTBA."

black people are more likely to be unemployed and have the highest poverty rate in chicago. so what do they do to take care of there families? Rob, steal, sell drugs. thers a direct corolation. remember 1 and 3 black people are living in poverty. well guess what, thers a direct corrolation to the amount of blacks in prison 32% of black males are in prison. which is basically 1 in 3. so they are likely committing crimes and hustling due to the fact that there in poverty, do to the fact that job cuts disprortionately affect black people. so 1 and 3 black familes have fathers in prison. what about the fathers that are killed?

black familes especially in chicago are FATHERLESS. which means single mothers. so what do they do? work what 2 or 3 minimum wage jobs? ok so whose watching these black youth?

I dunno, whenver I see clips of the streets of chicago, I see kids outside hanging with other black kids who went through the same thing. the streets are raising these kids man. do to the system they were born into

if you cant understand that. then I give up

malcolm x was on bullshyt at a young age :usure:

Dawg I was seriously gonna say the same thing.

Nah, THESE are real nikkas

:comeon:

I see you and whoever that other nikka who quoted me are too busy preaching on yall soap boxes to really take in what I said. I guess the moment I dropped the term "real nikka" yall bowels dropped and you :old: decided to try and school me till the viagra pills kick in.

So let me put this another way.

Keef for all his ignorance is a natural master of socialization. Think about it. He's practically an urban legend already after being shot by the cops and living. (hence the Back From The Dead tape) These shooters look up to and respect HIM. Oldheads and young ones alike. And like I said, it's cause of the code. Just reading this thread got plenty of people shook and convinced to stay at least three states from Chicago. nikkas throwing opinions left and right about the state of the Chi, how violent and wild these dudes is and such.

And in the dead center of a damn near savage enviorment is a teenager with aspergers syndrom who is slowly turning the eyes of America in his direction. I read through this entire thread and saw all these GBE pictures of lil killers with Call Of Duty guns posing n shyt.... You gotta respect anyone who not just survives there but FLOURISHED. :mindblown: Keef is in the nucleus of American controversy, gettin money, putting his team on and is still connected to the streets.

Whether it's right or wrong doesn't matter, mainly because there aint a damn thing you can do about it. But we can't act like he isn't 100% authentic, and his position in the national scope as well as his local one is probably the most intresting topic in rap right now.

I mean after all

SELF MADE

rick.ross_.jpg

U JUST AFFILIATED!

On some real shyt if this were to ever escalate in some bizarro world, how would Lupe NOT take some kind of L? He's gonna get Keef as hard as Keef is ingrained into the culture of the Chi now?

Besides Keef is young....having young killers on your team is a decisive advantage. Then again I don't know the entire scope of Lupe's affiliation.

yall need to stop throwing words around, and stats around trying to directly correlate the two..
