I don’t watch the WNBA but anyone using FG percentage as a slight to someone’s impact is ridiculous. Your first year or two is all about development and showing flashes of potential. Plenty of all time greats shot low percentages early in their career.

The WNBA doesn't have an adjusted shooting section like they do for the NBA so I did the calculations right quick to adjust Clark's shooting percentages / attempt rates relative to the league average.
Thus far, she's terrible from the field overall and from 3.
She takes an astronomical amount of 3's - over 60% of her attempt are from behind the line.
That absurd 3 point attempt rate allows her to actually be near league average - within 2% (not percentage points) in terms of Effective Field Goal % despite being trash from the field.
You already know she's money from the line at near 90%. However, what I didn't know, is that she's apparently a foul grifter. She gets to the line 32% above the league average, as a rookie. That's higher than Jalen Brunson, who was 23% above league average the last two years. And that motherfukker is a foul-baiting sonofabytch.
When you add it all together: a terrible scorer from the field, who takes A LOT of 3's, doesn't make them, but continues to take them, and gets to the line at a tremendous rate while hitting near 90%. It actually works out to a scorer who is 4% (not percentage points) above league average in terms of True Shooting Percentage.
That's the exact type of offensive player that I hate watching. We denigrate those kinds of players.
This was not an issue in my very similar post from last month about Clark's standing relative to the league average. Of course, I didn't editorialize or show disgust for Angel's FG% like I did in that post. And contrast the responses to each post.
Just because you haven't heard it (you did read it in my post last month) doesn't mean the math is wrong.

Reese shooting 92% OF league average is her shooting 8% below league average. Wilson shooting 4% above league average in her rookie year is her shooting 104% OF league average. Ain't no baselines changed. Just the format was much more succinct.
