Just read that the mother had him while she was a junior in high school and was on the outstanding truancy list. She basically said, "I need to be here for my son whether school is in or not". Ok, cool. So why did you have 4 other damn kids? How much time did this mother spend with her first child? How often did she read to him? Where is his dad? Where does he get money for tattoos on his neck? What did he think his future was by being in a gang? Having a half sister who is a hoodrat, and knowing how they operate makes it hard to feel sorry for people who continue to make bad choices.

Seem like you're a scholar in the Jim crow school of putting the dead black kid and his family on trial for his own murder.

From beyond the grave the burden is on the dead to prove that he was good enough to not deserve to be killed.

Of course ZERO attention is paid to the actual trigger person who took a life when he's a cop. What about his grades? What about his mama's life history?

I support the vigil. Scrutiny should be placed on the appropriate person --- the killer. The deceased life should be celebrated. Stop trying to dehumanize a young man who is no longer here to defend himself.

If this kid was even a C student in school, I could see rallying behind his death, but a gangmember who is flashing his gun on facebook, nah. I never, EVER, take the "what about Black on Black crime" route. But that was the FIRST thing I thought when I saw the entire hood out protesting. All I could think and wonder is if they get up and protest like this when all them n!ggas get gunned down by other n!ggas so far this year in the Chi.
