This is why people assume there has to be some conspiracy. The government all of sudden can mobilize people to help and spend millions on services. While they allowed homeless men and women to sleep on the redline for years.

$150,000,000 for NEXT YEAR sounds like planning to me.

You got people saying hey our property taxes are going up. We have gentrification moving in. We need property tax relief. The city answer is to open up a shelter in the community?

I’ve said it all through this thread this is what Brandon Johnson ran on. I am not mad and I believe he SHOULD help migrants. At what cost is my only question?

"Secret Job Fair" was pulling info for queuing should they ever get papers for legal working. It really isn't a bad idea. the sooner they can get working legally, the sooner they contribute to the government to pay back that spending.

The real gaffe in all this is the extension people are going out to do a lot of this stuff. Homeless citizens for example don't get such luxuries most of the time - you gotta go grab it. Even in my own history of being couch-to-couch at some point I was given resources, but nobody kept up but me. The migrants situation should be an example of how we can better serve our own residents and keep them off the streets/tents/CTA stations.
